Getting it clear in your head what energy balance is, can really help understand how fat loss works and simple it is. Being aware that all it takes is some time and consideration into tracking calories and general movement throughout the week.

2๏ธโƒฃ Improve Your NEAT
By prioritising this, can help you drop fat pretty effectively. A general rule of thumb would be to hit 12k steps and focus on general movement throughout the day. This can help burn 300-500cals extra.

3๏ธโƒฃ Treat Your Weekends, Like Your Weekdays
If youโ€™re on a bender Friday & Saturday and recovering on a Sunday every week, you are not going to drop fat. If youโ€™re on the money 4 days out of the 7, youโ€™re only on plan 57% of the time.
Let that sink in.

4๏ธโƒฃ Train with Intent & Purpose
Having something to train for, whether thatโ€™s a race, a competition, a holiday or want to hit a specific weight goal. Having that end goal can really help get you out of some dark places when the going gets tough in your fat loss journey.

5๏ธโƒฃ Small Habits Stack Up
If, only a daily basis you tick off all the boxes that need doing to help you along your weight loss journey, youโ€™re laughing. Understanding that being consistent year round, is better than being strict and perfect for only a few months of the year, will help you drop fat effectively.

Weโ€™ve all been there, tried making excuses to why your not dropping fat. When I started being honest with myself, being open to knowing I wasnโ€™t giving it my all was the first step.

The Sleds In HYROX Are Either Make Or Break

If itโ€™s not addressed in your training weeks leading into your race, your shooting yourself in the foot!

What I Done Leading Into HYROX Cardiff๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ:

1. Heavier Load
In my strength sessions, I would purposely add an extra 50kg, taking it to pro weight. My main focus on these strength sets were ex*****on and technique

2. Race Pace Efforts
Knowing running is my weakest area of HYROX, I knew I had to sandwich my stations with running but at race pace. Gradually increasing the distance on the run from 400m - 800m over the course of 4-6 weeks.

For Example:
400m Run @ Race Pace
25m Sled Push
400m Run @ Race Pace

3. Positioning
Understanding how gravity works, having a slightly more upright posture whilst doing the sled, takes the slack out of the weight slightly. Plus I can control my breathing and output a lot more efficiently.
