Melton & Belvoir SSPAN is a network which includes the School Games Organiser, Head Teachers, PE Staff and Melton Sport & Health Alliance who work in partnership to develop and deliver a wide range of fixtures, competitions and festivals promoting competitive sport between the local primary schools, secondary schools and FE colleges. Competition is an integral element of the Melton and Belvoir Sch

ool Sport Partnership and we strive to ensure that there are opportunities for all young people to enjoy and compete in a range of competitive sports, with clear pathways to county events and beyond. The School Games is the national approach to competitive school sport designed to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive sport. Delivered locally by Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport and School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPAN). The School Games provides a year-round calendar of competition for all students across the county, involving young people aged 7-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds.

📢 Important update: PE and Sport Premium

The Department for Education has announced an increase to the one-off transition payment for the 2026/27 academic year, rising from £100 million to £150 million.

The announcement also includes information on:
• Funding allocations
• When schools will receive the funding
• Partnership network delivery from April 2027
• Publication of updated guidance
