⚽️ U14 Panthers | County Cup 🏆

A battling performance from the Panthers today as we drew 3-3 with Whetstone, before unfortunately going out on penalties.

Plenty of positives to take — we created chances, showed character and, for large parts, looked the better team. 💪

Well done to Whetstone and good luck for the next round. We learn, we improve and we go again next week away at Thurmaston.

🏆 COUNTY CUP WIN FOR THE KNIGHTS! 🏆

Asfordby Knights U15s were in County Cup action this morning against Wigston.

It wasn’t the start we wanted, going 0–1 down to an early penalty, but the Knights showed fantastic character and responded in style! 💪

Two own goals and seven goals from the Knights saw us run out 9–1 winners! ⚽🔥

A fantastic team performance, great attitude and a brilliant response from the boys. 👏

Well done, Knights — into the next round! 🏆💙

A fantastic 4–0 victory today against a side we’d never managed to beat before.

Another strong performance, another clean sheet, and the unbeaten run continues! 💪⚽️

Sunday fixtures are here! ⚽️

It’s a busy day for Asfordby FC, with our teams taking on some great opposition in both home and away fixtures.

Good luck to all our players, coaches and volunteers. We’d love to see plenty of support from the sidelines, so come along, get behind the teams and cheer them on! 💙🧡

The Asfordby FC Clubhouse - What’s On will open throughout the day serving rijo42 hot drinks, soft drinks and cakes/bakes from The Mighty Pop, as well as a fully licenced bar.

This season, if you see a referee wearing a yellow armband, they are a child.

A young person brave enough to pick up a whistle, walk into the middle of a football pitch and make decisions in front of players, coaches and parents.

They won't get every decision right.

Neither will the players.
Neither will the coaches.
Neither will you.

So when you see that yellow armband:

Be patient.
Encourage them.
Protect them.
Let them learn.

Because that 15-year-old you support this weekend could become a referee for the next 30 years.

The one who gets shouted at, abused or humiliated?

They might put the whistle down on Sunday and never pick it up again.
