After a few false starts in some old-fashioned dance studios, we discovered the true salsa scene at Woodkirk, Leeds, with Alan, Nicolai, Mark and co, and never looked back. We’ve had the benefit of lessons with all the local, many national, and some international teachers, with the last 8 years of lessons with Mushi Noor in Manchester. We have travelled the world dancing salsa, including in Costa
Rica, Dubai and several trips to New York, where we had the privilege of private lessons with Tomas Guerrero and experienced the Santo Rico and Yamule socials, amongst others. We’ve danced Cuban and Cross-Body/New York style and for the last 20 years or so have danced primarily Cross-Body On 2, although we teach both On 1 and On 2. Prior to a break to have kids, we taught a regular On 2 class in Leeds, as well as one-off events around the region, and Jon was part of the original line-up of the Salsology Dance Company, based in Manchester.
