Results of Monday Nights game
Well Done Mavericks 🏏

The Mavericks softball team completed their 2nd victory of the season in batting friendly conditions against Goatacre at Melksham.
The visitors set a well constructed total of 323 for the loss of 3 wickets.
Melkshams reply started strongly and with 3 partnerships of 40+ and another of 30+ chased down the total for the loss of 3 wickets. The final total being 348, a record for the softball team!

A look ahead to this week’s fixtures…

On Wednesday night we welcome our friends from Keevil Cricket Club for a T20 friendly.

Then some important league fixtures on Saturday…

1st XI head to Devizes Cricket Club looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat.

A huge game for the 2s, who welcome Swindon Thalavias for a top of the table clash in Division 9.

Whilst the 3s look to get back to winning ways with an away fixture against Calne Cricket Club 4s.

Not quite the return to action we hoped for yesterday, with only the 2nd XI able to bring home the win.

The 1st XI were well beaten by Chippenham 2s at home. Unfortunately the 1s were only able to make a score of 165 in the first innings, opening the door or Chippenham to bag a 6 wicket win.

Meanwhile the 2nd XI kept up their winning form with a comprehensive 137 run win away to Bathford 2s. After knuckling down in the first inning to post a total of 190/6 l, the bowlers then produced another stellar display to bowl Bathford out for just 53.

Sadly the 3s fell to their first defeat of 2026, losing by 65 runs during their away clash with Heytesbury & Sutton Veny 2nd XI.

A far from perfect weekend, but all 3 sides still in a reasonably strong position in their respective leagues and will all no doubt be hungry to keep up their good seasons during next weekend’s fixtures.
