Another 3 boxers out last night, Rudi in his first skills bout, Cienna in her 1st competitive bout and Conner going into another of his countless encounters as a seasoned amateur

Rudi showed great heart in a strong learning bout against a tough, calculated opponent, adapting well and giving as good as he got at times. Plenty to build on and a good performance to learn from.

Cienna, despite the points loss, boxed well off the back foot against a high work rate opponent. The talent is there for all to see, now it’s about hard work, listening and building that real desire to win.

Conner, as always, brought the fight and never disappoints. Against a strong come forward lad, he met every exchange head on and showed unbelievable resilience when things got tough, digging deep and battling right to the final bell. A proper Meanwood warrior. 🔥

Scunthorpe gave us a proper rollercoaster last night, highs, lows, wars, controversy and everything in between. Massive credit to all 6 boxers involved for putting on a memorable night of boxing and representing their clubs with heart and courage throughout.

Leila, Mason and Daniel all showed exactly why the future of Meanwood is looking bright.

Leila, in only her 4th skills bout, boxed with maturity far beyond her years. Against a nervous but game opponent, she stayed composed, sharp and respectful throughout, showcasing real ability and ring intelligence every second she was in there.

Mason took part in what was arguably fight of the night, an absolute war from the opening bell. A gruelling, hard fought battle that showed his toughness, determination and refusal to take a backwards step. The kind of performance that tells you everything about someone’s character.

Daniel was involved in a very well matched and competitive contest, but looked sharp from the outset and had success throughout the bout with his brutish determination.

The decisions may not have gone our way, but boxing isn’t always measured purely by the result. Last night was about growth, character, experience and proving they belong, and all three did exactly that.

Another night of Meanwood firepower, grit and togetherness. With a few small adjustments, the future is looking very bright indeed.

Great work from these lads last night.

Daniel put in a calm and composed performance, showing a massive improvement from his last outing. Stayed sharp, listened well and boxed with real maturity.

Conner took the win after growing into the bout.
Started steady, then turned it up and got involved in a proper war to earn his hand being raised.

Well done to Jayan boxing again tonight,

He stayed composed from the start, didn’t get drawn in, and settled into his boxing with real class.

As the bout went on, he showed sharp work, control, and proper courage, putting in some standout rounds in 2 and 3.

A lad who works hard day in, day out and represents the club proudly, brilliant effort.

Ibrahim and Jayan represented the club last night in Nottingham, both stepping into tough tests and embracing the challenge.

Jayan adapted well, met the energy of a forward, aggressive opponent, stood his ground and gave a very creditable account of himself. He didn’t take a backward step and showed real composure under pressure.

Similarly, Ibrahim was up against a strong opponent in an intense, toe-to-toe contest. It was a hard, honest fight throughout and he was unfortunate not to get the decision on the night.

Plenty to work on, but even more to be proud of. Nights like these build fighters, and both lads did the club proud.
