🏏💗 WHAT A DAY – THE SARAH LITRIZZA MEMORIAL CUP 💗🏏

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday and helped make the Sarah Litrizza Memorial Cup such a special day at Mawdesley Cricket Club.

Above all, the day was about bringing everyone together in memory of Sarah and raising money for two very special causes.

We’re still finalising the totals, but it looks like we have raised around £800 for each charity – an incredible result! ❤️

💚 St Catherine’s Hospice

🏆 A massive congratulations to the Has Beens, captained by Jodie Moores, who celebrated her 20th birthday by leading her team to victory in a thrilling final against Tarleton. What a way to celebrate your birthday, Jodie! 🎂🏏

It was brilliant to welcome so many teams to Rectory Field, including our three Mawdesley teams – Has Beens, Mawdesley Misfits and Fiddlers Funbags – alongside Tarleton, Formby, Croston and Eccleston A & B.

A very special thank you to Michelle Ireland and Sara Boardman for all the hard work and organisation that went into making the day happen. 👏

And a huge thank you to every volunteer and helper who gave their time throughout the day, as well as everyone who played, donated, bought raffle tickets, supported the bar and pizzas or simply came along and enjoyed the occasion.

We’ll confirm the final fundraising total once everything has been counted, but to be looking at around £1,600 across the two charities is something everyone involved should be incredibly proud of.

Great cricket, a fantastic atmosphere and, most importantly, a very special day in memory of Sarah. 💗🏏

What a brilliant start to the day here at Mawdesley Cricket Club!
Our Mawdesley Ladies Softball 6-a-Side Tournament is now underway at Rectory Field, and there’s already a fantastic atmosphere around the ground. 🏏🙌
We’ll be sharing a few photos from the early part of the event — and there’s plenty more to come throughout the day!

🏆 Lancashire Cup U11s – Congratulations to Little Lever CC! 🏆

What a Finals Day it was! From start to finish, the cricket on show was nail-biting stuff, with both semi-finals coming down to a one-run margin.

In the final, Euxton CC met Little Lever CC, and Little Lever were worthy winners after a fantastic display of cricket. Congratulations to the whole squad!

A big thank you to the umpires for keeping the day running smoothly, and also to Lancashire Cricket Foundation.

We think Mawdesley CC did really rather a great job of hosting (if we do say so ourselves 🙊) and putting on a great day for everyone involved. The sun even came out for us!!
