Trois - Running for Médecins Sans Frontières Three events to be completed this year to help a close friend raise funds for his daughter's cancer treatment One of the most beautiful events in the world.

Hello every body,

I normally try and raise funds and awarenes for Medecin Sans Frontiere but this year I have a very close friend who needs help to raise £400,000 for his 6 year old daughter expensive cancer treatment. It is best If I let you read my friend's story of his daughter Vanessa so you get an understanding of what she is going through and what is needed to get her better. This year, wit

h the help of Caroline L'Amie, Tom Elliott and Axelle Elliott, we will try and complete the Celtman Triathlon, The Trail des Aiguilles Rouges, followed by the usual Marseille - Cassis run. The Celtman is a Long Distance Triathlon in the heart of the highlands. The Trail des Aiguilles Rouges which I am doing with Tom Elliott is an Ultra Marathon in the heart of Mont Blanc. Again a beautiful place to run and be with nature. As usual if anybody is keen to come out with us for a run, bike or swim....join us, we need the motivation! Thank you for any help you can provide. Our Just giving page is below. All donation's goes directly to Vanessa. http://www.justgiving.com/owner-email/pleasesponsor/Peter-Guy-L-Amie

I now leave you with Parker, Vanessa's father:

"Vanessa is 6 and has been fighting for her life since 2012. Since her diagnosis with stage 4 Neuroblastoma, one of the most aggressive childhood cancers, Vanessa has endured 26 months of treatment at Great Ormond Street. She spent 17 months as an in-patient, where she underwent chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, radiotherapy, 3 major surgeries and immunotherapy. Her suffering has been indescribable and more than any child should endure - but she stayed positive and gave Anna and I hope when we were most down. Have a look at this one minute video which shows how she faced up to her first year of treatment... it was humbling to all of us. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOlHJiV4LnM&

Vanessa finally reached remission in mid-2014 and has been back at school, building her strength and self-confidence and she is so proud of the beautiful brown hair that has finally regrown long enough to plait. It’s been a happy time for our family… but this happiness was not to endure. On her final end of treatment scan in January 2015 we were heartbroken to learn that Vanessa has relapsed again, this time with an inoperable tumour in her skull. She now faces another year of chemotherapy, followed by more radiotherapy or potentially proton therapy, and lastly immunotherapy. It is this last stage that promises some hope of stopping an endless cycle of toxic treatment and relapse. However, currently the only treatment available for Vanessa is in New York at Sloane Kettering. In January we were meant to remove the line that accesses her heart, which has prevented her from being submerged or going swimming since she was 4. Instead we had to crop-short the brown hair she has been so proud to regrow. We've learned that this saves her the indignity of it falling out in clumps, as the chemo kicks in. We are reaching out to our friends, our family and the public to support us with raising money for her treatment in New York. We need to raise over four hundred thousand dollars. Your generosity will help to give Vanessa a chance to grow up with her sisters and find happiness again outside of hospital.”

Funds raised through Vanessa’s Journey will go towards accessing further treatment in New York. In the event that Vanessa deteriorates and never becomes eligible for international treatment, all donations will go towards Neuroblastoma Clinical Research. Her parents, Parker and Anna greatly appreciate any support.

Hello everybody. I was hoping to get all of you to look at our fundraiser appeal and help us raise funds for a very close friend who's daughter needs specific and expensive cancer treatment in New York. All donations goes directly to Vanessa in order for her family to raise the £400,000 needed for her treatment. To try and motivate all of you to part with your hard earned money we are going to try and complete 2 big events: The Celtman longue distance triathlon and the Trail des Aiguilles Rouges. The team members are Caroline L'Amie, Tom Elliott, Axelle Elliott and myself. I won't bore you with the event details but promise that they are both freaking hard. Thank you very much for all your help. We completly understand If you can't donate or have already done so but please share this so we can reach as many people as possible. Thanks

Merci.
