British Orienteering We are British Orienteering, the National Governing Body for orienteering, an exciting and adventurous outdoor sport suitable for all ages and abilities.

Orienteering is a fun and challenging map-based outdoor adventure sport, and British Orienteering is the National Governing Body in Britain. We'll be telling you all about exciting orienteering events and activities you can take part in, bringing you the latest updates from about our teams and athletes that compete internationally, and posting pictures, results and more from major events. Individual Sprint entries for the British Sprint Championships close TOMORROW. ⌛

The competition takes place at the University of West England (Frenchay Campus) on Sunday 28 June 2026.

Entries will close at 11:59pm tomorrow Sunday 7 June. You can still enter the British Relay Championships 2026 up until Saturday 13 June.

A new Transgender Policy is now live, following recent legal developments and sector-wide guidance to ensure fair, safe and compliant participation across our sport.

Work is underway to update the BO database, and members will be informed of any actions needed.

The Sport Welfare in Action; together for safer sport campaign recognises the important role volunteers, staff, National Governing Bodies (NGBs), and local partners play in creating positive club cultures, and reinforces the support available to them through the Sport Welfare Officer (SWO) Network.
