On Sunday, the club held its 'End of Summer Season' fun tournament and we had a good turnout on a lovely, sunny afternoon. The event was followed by a fabulous afternoon tea at the club house.
The winner was Debs and runner up was John, pictured below being presented with their prizes by club secretary Brenda.

On Saturday, five of us attended the West Cumbria tennis league presentation night and team captain Debs collected trophies for Maryport Ladies winning League 2, and for being the top player in the league. Very well done Debs!
It was a very enjoyable evening, and if there was a trophy for best dancers Maryport would definitely have won that! 😊

The 'End of Summer Season' fun tournament for club members is on Sunday, 13th September at 2.00 pm. This will be an afternoon of tennis followed by a tea at the club house. The cost is £3 and please bring some food to share. 🙂

Just a reminder about the West Cumbria Tennis League presentation evening on Saturday, 12th September. If you would like a ticket (£15, including buffet & disco) please give your name to Debs by the weekend. Tickets are available for partners and friends of tennis club members too.

Our Summer ‘Fun’ Tennis Tournament & Barbecue was a huge success! The more experienced people are paired with newer players, making the matches more even and giving everyone a fair chance of winning, whatever their ability.

The winner of the tournament was Anne, pictured being presented with her prize by club secretary Brenda.

We are very keen to encourage new members to our club, where they will have the opportunity to join us in both social and league tennis.

WCTL Presentation Night 2026

Saturday 12th September - 6pm - 11pm

Tickets are £15 per person and can be bought from your clubs committee once again, same as last year and year before.

Open to all members partners, friends etc, more the merrier. You don't have to play in your clubs teams to attend.

There will be a disco for you to dance your socks off, and the bar is open as usual. Buffet will be hot/cold. If there are any diatry requirements please let your committee know so they can pass the message onto me, if I am not told then there is no guarantee there will be food for you.

Last years numbers were very poor, if the numbers are the same again then this will be the last year holding it unfortunately.
