Our games are all friendly, social ones with a broad mixture of abilities and experience, and players come from a very diverse variety of backgrounds and professions. The unifying factor in the group is our love of the game and the fact that as a group we're a reasonably sane, friendly bunch who just happen to want each other's money! We play in various clubs in Maryport where we are provided with
a large room open to MPC players. We provide the tables, chips, cards, etc, all you need to bring is your £££ and a sense of humour!! (check the next game page for updates)
When?? Players are asked to turn up at 7:30pm to allow time to allocate chips and seats. We usually play to midnight most weeks, depending on the game really! We play a £12 freeze-out in our Friday night games with a starting stack of 15,000 chips We also run a points league in our Friday night games. Here at MPC we have implemented a few changes to our Friday night format. The first thing we have done is to increase the starting chip stack from 10,000 chips to 15,000. This gives lots more play to the game. Another change is that every 5th week we will be running a £20 BOUNTY SHOOT-OUT game. Every player is issued with a £5 bounty chip that can be cashed in at the end of your game. The more bounty chips you have the bigger the prize. The points league has also altered the amount of monthly final tables during the year, with only 8 qualifying seats to be won. For the 9th seat on the yearly final table, a SUPER SATALITE game is to be played on Sat 10th November. Finally the 10th seat will be taken by the overall winner of the points league. In 2012 we have introduced a loyalty system - that is for every points game you play here at MPC you will be awarded a loyalty point that will count towards 200 chips for the yearly final table IF you qualify. This means if you play a possible 40 weeks to for those points you could end up with 8,000 extra chips. With other new and exciting things to come throughout the year why not give us a try in 2012.
