RUNNING CLUB

Established in April 2025, Maryport CSC Running Club is based at Netherhall Community Sports Centre. A friendly running club, which welcomes new members of all abilities, we encourage and maintain a real mix of runners. We train and race on the road, fell, trail and cross country.
The common bond that unites our members, regardless of their individual background, ability or aim, is that we all enjoy running, keeping fit and socialising!

Member benefits:
• Affiliation with England Athletics and Northern Athletics, giving you discounted entry to races.
• Twice weekly training sessions led by qualified and experienced coaches.

SPORTS CENTRE

Opened in 2005, the Netherhall Community Sports Centre is a state-of-the-art facility located in the grounds of Netherhall School. The centre has five separate gym areas offering free weights, cardio, resistance and plate loaded machines, functional training and much more.

All training areas have been carefully designed to offer a broad variety of high-quality equipment and training options. Casual gym goers and serious athletes alike will all be able to fulfil their personal fitness aims within the centre.

A range of instructor led exercise classes are included within the membership package. Each class is individually and carefully designed to offer a time efficient and enjoyable routine.

Customers can expect to enjoy their workout in a friendly, social and motivational environment with like-minded people. All abilities welcome. Members must be 17+

🏅Sian and Shaun’s castle 5km

The soon to be Clark’s completed their 2nd castle 5km race tonight in Carlisle. Well done both, that’s 2/4 complete!

Sian finished with a time of 24-50 and Shaun with a time of 16-39💪🏾

Something a little bit different tonight with longer bike/shuttle sets between the Kettle and HIIT stations.

32 shuttles within one set and 64 in total over the two rounds.

We alternated with partners (who were stand sprinting on the bike) every 10, 8, 6, 4, 4 shuttles

One shuttle = 35 metres, so well over 1k per set, per person and every shuttle round was run at full gas and right off a 1 minute bike sprint.

Needless to say the calorie counts were at the max for the time and heart rates through the roof!

It really is such a pleasure to work with people who always turn up ready to give 100% every single time with zero complaints or negativity👏👏👍

CARDIO, STRENGTH & CORE 🚴🏻‍♀️🏋️ THIS FRIDAY 19/6

We've had some really positive feedback from last Fridays class, so have decided to run another tester session 🙂

For a change we'll be in Ellenside Performance Gym this week and not the sports hall.

Our class format for will include Cardio Equipment (ski, row, spin etc) plus lots of functional kit stations such as Kettlebells, battleropes, slam balls.

There will be no running or HIIT exercises this week👇

So all zero impact exercises, yet still a high heart rate session guaranteed 😥 🙂

Places will be strictly limited so please book early via our App to avoid disappointment 👍
