To mark the 40th anniversary of its closure Pit Crack the group will hold an event at the Pithead, we will remember those who died in this colliery from its inception in 1914 to 1986,
But also celebrate those miners who spent their lives working at Haig, many friendships were made, but beyond that each man was a brother, they were looked after like family, You are all invited to attend this event, if mining is in your blood or even if your friends were miners help us celebrate their existance.
The event will start at the memorial in Haig pit yard at 11am to remember the 14 entombed miners whose bodies are sadly still there.
We will then walk by the coastal path to Haig pit No4 Shaft ( by the cafe ) to celebrate the men who worked there.

We wiill Remember Them.
