After a rain affected draw in the reverse fixture, both sides looked forward to much better conditions as Martock made the short trip up the A303 for their final away game of the season. Winning the toss and choosing to bowl, Queen Camel got early joy as Newtons shaky late season form continued, chipping a shorter ball to the hands of Scrowston at square leg in the 4th over. Martock's fortunes improved once Reed joined Slade at the crease and the two recovered the away side to 67-1 before Slade was caught for 14. Reed then retired not out for 42 to give the younger members of Martock's middle order opportunities in the middle. Bad luck and a tricky pitch combined to see mixed fortunes for the youngsters but a late partnership from the more experienced Dennison and Sherriff added much needed runs and brought up a total of 110 for 6 from 20 overs.

A very young home side opted to open their batting with experience too and it quickly became clear that Forbes would be the critical wicket. Athukorala neatly dismissed his opening partner Jenkins Sr for 10, before Forbes and young Scrowston formed a partnership that saw the former eventually retire upon reaching his half century and the latter hit a career high total of 21 before being bowled by Hunt, leaving the home side comfortably ahead of the run rate. Much like Queen Camel in the first innings, Martock chose to use 9 different bowlers to develop match experience, epitomizing the good natured friendliness of true village cricket. This spirit was on show again as a pair of junior Jenkins siblings got Queen Camel over the line in the 18th over, securing the win with a score of 111 for 2.

Result: Queen Camel Win by 8 Wickets

After a thrilling first fixture earlier in the year, Martock approached the return fixture with plenty of optimism of clinching another positive result.

Losing the toss and being put into the field, Ashford and Hunt opened with disciplined accuracy and only 19 runs came from the opening spell of 6 overs. It was first first change bowlers Stafford and Massey who then capitalized on the building pressure with wickets in the 8th and 9th over thanks to catches from Barwell and Ashford. Two in an over from Barwell including another catch for Ashford then put the hosts in a strong position at 64 for 4 as drinks were taken. Massey struck again straight after drinks as Newton maintained a 100% catching rate for Martocks fielders. A third Ashford catch from the bowling of Ratnayake dismissed Male for 21 before A George top scored with 27, dismissed by yet another catch, this time by Hunt from the bowling of Ashford. The innings wrapped up in fitting style as Ashford took yet another catch to claim a club record 4 in an innings, leaving Crewkerne with an about par score of 154 for 9 from 30 overs.

Ashford was the star of the show for Martock with the bat as well as he partnered with Slade to maintain a steady 4 an over for the first 10, before the latter was caught from the bowling of A George. 2 more wickets in the 12th over from A George dismissed L Primmer and Ratnayake before Martocks best period saw 10 overs without a wicket falling as Ashford piled runs to his tally, retiring not out for 52. Some sloppy communication from Martock then saw two runouts for Stafford and Hunt before A George completed a fine five fer with the wickets of Barwell and the returning Ashford to leave Martock 39 runs short on 115 all out.

Result: Crewkerne win by 39 runs

Home v Broadwindsor 14/7

The return fixture just three weeks after the first saw the two sides meet on neutral territory as South Petherton CC hosted the latest Sunday 30 over friendly. Broadwindsor won the toss and elected to bat. Opener Weatherell was caught and bowled by S Primmer in the 4th over, quickly followed by Meech in the 7th, bowled by Ferns for 9. Broadwindsor recovered thanks to Sweetman before drinks were taken on the fall of the wicket of captain Ronan, LBW to Stafford for 11 to leave Broadwindsor 74 for 3 at the halfway stage.

Dennison, Barwell and Athukorala were duly rewarded for their efforts with the ball with a wicket apiece, striking at regular intervals to prevent significant partnerships forming. A late flurry of boundaries from White and Gudge added much needed runs for Broadwindsor, with 44 off the final 4 overs helping them reach 146 for 6 from their 30.

Martock lost openers Hunt and Newton to early ducks, followed soon after by Ratnayake for the same total to leave them just 18 for 3 after 5 overs. S Primmer was the only batsmen to ever look truly comfortable for the hosts as Stafford and L Primmer made starts they couldn't build on and the lower order couldn't add significantly to the total. Boundaries from S Primmer kept the run rate in check well past the 20th over, however the wickets tumbled at a steady pace to see Martock 98 all out after 26.1 overs.

Result: Broadwindsor win by 48 runs
