*Platt Puts Pen To Pencil*

We are thrilled to get this one confirmed. Joe Platt staying with MSR for the 2026/2027 season.

Coming into the side last season, Joe was an instant hit. Assists (some filthy) and goals (GOTS) from our CM, capped off a quality first season for Joe.

*Defenders Union*

With Burlz agreeing another season at MSR, we can confirm fellow Defender & Guiness lover, Reece Dunne has committed for the 2026/2027 season.

Reece another prominent figure at the club. Every time he puts on the shirt, you know his dropping a minimum 8/10. Its this, that saw Reece pick up Managers Player & Captains Player, in our debut season.

MSR doing business early on, in retaining players. Will there be more? Or will we announce new signings 👀

We are delighted to announce Ol' Man Burlz (Nick. Burley) has agreed to stay at MSR for another season.

One of our first players recruited and the most Senior player in the squad, Nick is well respected throughout the club and has been a regular figure over the last two seasons.

We are also thrilled to announce that Nick will be part of the management team this season, as he will be Player/Assistant Manager.

Firstly, a massive thank you to all the players who gave up their Friday evening, especially with the day being absolutely glorious, to play in the Charity match this evening.

After a few drop outs, we were left with one sub, which was far from ideal and meant I had to play the whole 90 minutes 😫 (which am, and will be feeling).

One sub against any team is difficult, but one sub against the quality the lads at TCTXI possess, is absolute murder.

A brilliant game, with small margins gifting the win to TCTXI.

The first half was all square and as expected, they saw a lot of the ball, but we kept our shape and kept them out.

We should've gone ahead and into halftime leading 2-0. Two massive chances for J.Ivy one on one with the keeper were fluffed.

We took the lead in the second half, courtesy of a D.Jeffries screamer. 30/35 yards out, Dan drinks a perfect lob over the keeper into the top corner. 0-1

TCTXI got back into the game minutes after we made a change and shifted CP into CDM.

A great ball in to the back post, saw N.France head home. 1-1

Then came the controversial moment. The TCTXI player we had come on as a sub, giving away a penalty. 2-1

As the game went on, our players were feeling the affects of playing these lads, with a Hip injury, Calf injury and Hamstring injury affecting three of our eleven (sub was also off injured).

TCTXI scored their third with minutes left. 3-1

Nothing but proud of the way the team performed tonight. Coming up against Prem players and players who have bagged a goal at Wembley, they didnt show fear, and all put in an absolute shift and should walk away with their heads held high.

Huge thanks to Adam Drakulic. Absolute top guy and appreciate him getting a team together, and taking us on. We have had some great games over the years, and hope to have many more.

Also to his players, who like our lads, gave up their evenings. Great bunch of lads, and the game played in great spirits.

Thanks to Blue Cross as well, who without them, the game doesn't happen.

Final thanks goes out to the referee. Agreeing to do the game at short notice, is hugely appreciated.
Ref'd the game well, and even had some banter, by showing D.Jeffries a Red Card for an awful attempt 😂

Residents of Wootton, Marston and surrounding areas.......We are in for a treat 😍

Im sure there are plenty of you who have visited kokoras street food marston and fallen in love with their chicken and their specials.

There is certainly no doubt, the chicken is scrumptious (especially a spice box 😍), but personally, we prefer a Beef Burger over a Chicken Burger.

We have been asking when Chef James will join the darkside and serve up some mouth watering Burgers, and it has finally happened (No, Not Arsenal winning the Premier League, or Tottenham possibly get relegated 🤭), but Burgers!!!

A whole day of Chef James and Kokores serving up Burgers 😍.

Having been a guinea pig and tasted what is to come, there is only one thing to tell you.....

If you are free on Saturday 6th June from 1pm, you dont want to miss out.

Get on down to Wootton Blue Cross Sports & Social Club. Sun, Booze and delicious burgers.

Well, what an interesting morning 😂

MSR travelled to Russell Park to take on Bedford Park Rangers, but something seemed off.

We looked left, we looked right.....But we couldn't see our opponents. Oh, they must've been coming down later and setting up?

A message sent to their Gaffa soon got a reply, which we was not expecting....

"WE CANT PLAY YOU"

Would've been nice to have been told last night, or even a message this morning, but nothing. All of our lads had arrived and were far from impressed.

A call to another team (Also let down, but their opponents had the decency to let them know last night), saw a change of venue. Luckily for us, it was Five minutes down the road at Jubille Park.

Bedford Phoenix or their Charity side, still not 100% who it was, but an opponent none the least and not a waste of a morning.

With our Reserve side looking to enter the league this coming season, it was nice to have Four of them turn up and mix with the Firsts.

The first half was a very sloppy one from our point of view. We lacked intensity, our shape was off, we rushed play and gave away too many loose passes.

MSR going behind. Not due to a wonderful goal or a moment of brilliance, but to a soft goal that was preventable. 1-0

Massive save from Leo, as "Phoenix" get another chance, but the keeper pulling off a quality save to keep it at one.

J.Smith having some great chances to put us level, then ahead. Two balls in, two headers....both unfortunately not nestling into the back of the goal.

Halftime

Second half, was much better from us.

Our shape was much better, we didn't hold the ball too long and we created more attacks.

H.Nadeem (coming on at Halftime) got us level. A quality half volley cross by J.Smith on the right, saw Hasan react quicker than their DF, and slot it home. 1-1

Then came a moment their player would want to forget. A pass back to the keeper (saw N.Stanchev press him well), resulted in the keeper completely missing the ball, and the ball trickling into the goal. 1-2

J.Smith then put through by a quality pass from R.Massa. If you were a betting man, you would've put your house on a goal, but Josh (in two minds to shoot or pass) saw his effort saved by the keeper.

Niko then turned provider. Controlling a ball up to him well, he lays it back and (Halftime sub) R.Massa takes a touch, then fires home with a decent finish. 1-3

Rhi having another huge chance, but instead of passing to Hasan, shoots over the bar.

Even bigger save from Leo. C.Mensah ducking from a bouncing ball, saw their forward in one on one. Standing tall till the last second, a huge leg saves a certain goal.

Fulltime

MSR yet again come from behind to win a game!

The subs came on and all had a huge say in the match result. This is brillaint, and exactly what we want to be seeing.

Hasan on and scores
Niko on and assists
Rhi on and scores

👏 these guys

Your Professional Energy Services MOTM today goes to R.Milton.

Playing LB today, he pocketed their RW and was unlucky not to get a couple of assists. Even when it looked like they were in behind, Rossy somehow always got in front of them, and took the ball off them.

G.Dennis also with a solid performance today at RB deserves a special mention. As always, the lad putting in a solid 8/10 and if not for Wade....We mean Deadpool.....Apologies, Ross, George would've won the award.

Also Niko deserves his 💐 today. Came on and not only had an impact on two of the goals, but he held the ball up well.
