In simple words it's hands on treatment, with relevant advice for you, such as exercises or lifestyle adjustments.
The philosophy of what is osteopathy is is complicated so in simple terms - we look at the person as a whole not just an injury & think holistically - why has this injury happened?
Hands on means anything from specific massage and stretching, joint mobilisations - sometimes clicking, sometimes moving.
After the appintment you will feel like you've really been moved - lighter, freer and in less pain.

Want to know more about how breathing can help you?
This is something I’m really passionate about and has really helped me over the years with my heart health, injuries and issues causing anxiety.
Just because we all breathe doesn’t mean we do it correctly. Proper breathing influences so many body systems 🧘 ♥️

We spoke to experts about how the breathing technique used by soldiers and influencers works.

It’s finally here!

I’m delighted to share the new website for Oak Tree Osteopathy.

I’ve spent a lot of time bringing it together, and I’m so pleased to finally have a place that showcases what I do — from osteopathy and hands-on treatment to my developing Clinical Pilates work.

It also gives you a little more insight into who I am, how I work and what you can expect when you come to see me.

If you’re in Marlow or the surrounding area and you’ve been wondering whether osteopathy could help with an ongoing ache, pain or injury, please have a look around.

I’d love to know what you think! 💙

It’s nearly a week since we returned from 2 weeks of hiking, MT biking & relaxing in the French alps. It’s so important to have a break from the bustle of everyday life. Some people think our idea of a relaxing holiday sounds too active but it suits our family!
What gives you that much needed break from everyday life?
Back from holiday with a new ache or pain that won’t go away? I’ve got appointments available & am happy to help.

Adding slices of cucumber, lemon, a sprig of mint or rosemary or grated ginger to water can help you enjoy it and keep hydrated in the hot weather. Aches and pains get worse if we are dehydrated. My favourites are iced coffee and ginger and cucumber water 💦🍋🍋‍🟩🍉🍓🍅🥕🥝🥒🥛

I’ve now completed 2/3 of my clinical mat work Pilates course.

And I’m excited to share I now have the knowledge & skills to teach 1-1, 1-2 and classes Pilates.

It was so nice spending time with other manual practitioners (osteopaths & physios mainly) learning something that really compliments our knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology. We all felt really excited to start sharing that knowledge with our patients and those who want to strengthen and move their bodies.

Watch this space for details of 1-1 and classes….

One of the things I’ve loved most about starting my Pilates training is how well it fits alongside Osteopathy. I’ve practiced Pilates over the years but have found myself doing much more since my training course.

So many people think recovery is just about “resting” or waiting for pain to settle — but often the biggest improvements come from learning how to move well, build confidence, and gently strengthen the body again.

That doesn’t mean intense workouts or complicated exercises!

Sometimes the smallest movements can make the biggest difference:✨ improving balance✨ waking up weak muscles✨ reducing stiffness✨ improving posture and control✨ helping prevent injuries returning

I’m really looking forward to bringing more of this into my treatments over the coming months 😊 If you’re struggling with pain, stiffness or an injury, now is a great time to book an appointment and start getting back to moving comfortably again.

I’ve just spent the last 2 days at the start of my journey to becoming a certified Pilates instructor—and I absolutely loved it.

I can’t wait to start putting what I’ve learnt into practice. I’ll be beginning to weave some of this into my osteopathy appointments straight away, and after my next training stage in June, I’ll be ready to offer 1:1 and small group Pilates sessions.

Pilates and osteopathy complement each other so well—whether it’s helping recovery from injury, improving strength and control, or supporting long-term prevention.

I’m really excited to share this with you all
