Longridge Set in a riverside location in Marlow, Longridge is a charity that provides a range of exciting outdoor adventures. Please book in advance!

Our Activities are very adventurous and so require qualified team members and equipment that must be pre-booked. Set in a unique riverside location near Marlow, Buckinghamshire, Longridge provides a range of exciting water sports and land-based activities aimed at young people of all abilities. As well as 12 acres of beautiful water meadows we have our own island, 'Taylor Island' for the ultimate

swallows and amazons experience. Taylor island also gives us a sheltered backwater in which young people can experience the river with confidence.

85,000 young people will visit our world-class facilities this year and Longridge boasts a proud 50 year history and an excellent safety record. Our visitors range from schools and youth groups to individuals and corporate clients not to mention the Women’s Olympic Rowing Team and GB Kayaking Teams. Longridge is run by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers and paid staff. We are approved by the BCU (British Canoe Union), RYA (Royal Yacht Association) and British Rowing. As well as AALA, Bucks County Council, Duke of Edinburgh Award and we are a recognized Olympic Training Centre. Each year we run a large number of courses ranging from beginner skills right through to advanced coaching and instruction. We have a range of facilities including well equipped accommodation for all needs, from camping to bunk house accommodation and indoor meeting, conference and training spaces. Longridge helps young people from all walks of life and abilities to develop water skills as well as leadership, self-discipline, confidence and respect. 🌧️🏹 Year 6 Residential at Longridge Activity Centre 🚣‍♀️☀️

What an incredible few days our Year 6 pupils had at Longridge Activity Centre!

Despite torrential rain and dramatic thunderstorms at times, the children showed remarkable resilience, positivity and teamwork throughout the trip. From paddleboarding and archery to laser tag and Jacob’s Ladder, every child embraced new challenges with enthusiasm and courage.

The competitive spirit was in full swing as Team A and Team B went head-to-head in a range of activities, including raft-building challenges, canoe races and even chasing rubber ducks along the Thames! Laughter, friendship and unforgettable memories were made every step of the way.

We are so proud of the fearless, supportive and collaborative attitude shown by all of our Year 6 pupils. They were a credit to the school throughout the residential.

A huge thank you to the fantastic team at Longridge for keeping everyone safe and engaged, and a special thank you to Miss Daffu for her exceptional support and dedication throughout the trip.
