Another superb day out at Bicton yesterday with some great results. These horses feel better and better on every outing.

My clinics in August.

Clinic Dates for August:

Join Gilles Serbource, BHSI, for a clinic at his yard in Bratton Seymour, BA9. The clinic dates for August include:

✨Saturday 30th July, 3pm-6pm: POLE AND GRIDWORK *all levels*

✨Wednesday 3rd August, 5pm - 8pm: FLATWORK / DRESSAGE *all levels*

✨Saturday 13th August, 9am - 12pm: SHOW JUMPING *all levels*

✨ Saturday 20th August, 9am - 11am: XC TRAINING, Larkhill, (course hire at £25pp + coaching at £25pp).
*9am-10am: 100cm upwards*
*10am-11am: 80cm – 100cm*
NB, you need to be on your horse and warmed up for the start of the clinic so please aim to arrive at least 30 mins in advance.

✨Wednesday 24th August, 5pm-7pm: DRESSAGE TEST RUN THROUGH, ride your Test and get feedback and tips before riding it a second time *all levels* (possibility to ride on grass if the weather / ground is OK).

The Clinics are 45 mins long unless otherwise stated, with a max. of 2 people per group, we will try to match you to someone of a similar ability (or bring a friend to ride with).

Please let us know the time you would like to ride and your level on booking. The is £25 per horse/rider for 45 minute clinics unless otherwise stated (plus course hire if shown).

Gilles trained in Saumur, home of the Cadre Noir and has been coaching for over 35 years. He is also available for private lessons at £40 for 45 minutes and over the summer we are offering ‘over-night clinics’ for you to come and spend 2/3 days training and attend a local event.

" This is Demi's first Novice level event since she was a six year old. I was so thrilled with the way that she handled it and the absolutely superb ride given her by Gilles. We had no problems with flies all day EXCEPT when Demi went into the dressage arena! Gilles was so quiet with her and rode a beautiful test in spite of them, and Demi tried her best to ignore the flies during the test, until it was over. A few minutes later - no flies! But, it is what it is, and her 38.8 was fair in the circumstances and put her in 15th place at that stage in a very strong class. Then her double clear jumping, SJ and XC within the time, gave her a final 10th place. I hadn't expected her to be placed in such good company, particularly considering that Demi missed nearly all of last season and is very inexperienced. She will come back to BE100 next and then we shall see where she will go after that. "

Another super day out for Gilles The Eventing Coach at Moreton-Russell Events British Eventing Official

He rode 3 horses, Simon In the 90, Funky in 100 and Demi in the Novice. It was his first event with both Simon and Funky.

Simon had a good dressage, one bar in the SJ and a lovely clear XC to finish 4th.

Funky and Demi had double clears and finished on the dressage scores to leave them 6th and 10th place respectively. Three rosettes to add to the ever-growing collection with Libby at Kingfisher Farm Equestrian lovely horses.

It was hot but the ground held up well and there was extra time added to the XC which lessened the pace. The new course is fantastic with some challenging fences. All the horses finished easily and were cool and refreshed before the drive home.

Now it’s time for everyone to have a short break, horses and riders alike, before regrouping for the second half of the season.

Bicton is our next stop! Bring it on…

We were out at Tweseldown yesterday and despite the soaring temperatures the ground was good. It was a bit of a change from the rain and the mud at Howick last weekend though!

My first ride was on Raphael V (Raphie). This was the first time I had ridden him at an event and he was every bit as good as I thought he would be. We produced a lovely test with a 24 mark and then a super double clear and finished in 2nd place. He makes it look so easy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiRVi0w5wFI

My second ride was on Artiste (Georgie). She is very talented but this was only her second run at 100 level and it was a demanding course with a lot of questions. She produced a nice steady test despite not being 100% focussed on the job in hand (she hasn't been out for over 2 months). She had two bars showjumping, again only because she lost concentration a little at the end but XC she showed how brave she was and gave me a super ride: https://youtu.be/bwQGLpGK2i8 She will progress quickly at this level.

All in all a very good day. Some learnings but also some great work from these wonderful, talented horses. Thank you Libby at Kingfisher Farm Equestrian for giving the opportunity to ride and compete them!

I am very pleased to announce I am now riding for Kingfisher Farm Equestrian This weekend was a busy one with me riding 3 of the 7 horses I will be competing this season, including the lovely Maya.

I am still coaching though and can offer private lessons and clinics during the week and some weekend days both from my yard and at yours.
