🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Saturday at Five Arches parkrun! 🧡

It was a family affair for Marlborough Athletics at Five Arches parkrun this weekend, with mother and son duo Georgia and Henry taking on the course together.

👏 Georgia, representing our Senior Team, had a fantastic run, knocking nearly two minutes off her previous parkrun PB to set a brilliant new personal best! 🎉

And Henry had another fantastic run, finishing 2nd overall out of 177 runners and 1st Junior Male 11–14. 🥈🔥

We love seeing our members getting out there and running together - and with several mother-and-son duos within Marlborough Athletics, there’s clearly something special about sharing the miles with family! 🧡

Well done, Georgia and Henry! 👏

🏃‍♂️ Sunday Half Marathon Success! 🧡

A brilliant performance from David Hamill, representing our Senior Team, at the Chippenham Half Marathon today.

⏱️ David crossed the line in an impressive 1:23:00! 👏🔥

And according to his Strava, that’s his third-fastest half marathon - a fantastic result and another great performance for the Marlborough Athletics Senior Team.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Swindon Harriers Autumn Track Open Meeting 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

What a fantastic Friday evening for Marlborough Athletics, with a great group of our athletes taking to the track at the Swindon Harriers Autumn Track Open Meeting! 🙌

👏 Evie – 100m & 200m
👏 Edith – 100m
👏 Dan – 100m & 200m
👏 Freddie – 200m
👏 Kofi – 100m & 200m
👏 Henry – 1500m
👏 Oscar – 800m & 200m

A particularly exciting evening for Oscar, making his track debut! ⭐ He set a fantastic benchmark in the 800m with a time of 2:37.68 - a brilliant starting point to build from! 💪🔥

The 100m was also one to watch, with Kofi, Freddie and Dan all lining up in the same final. It made for a fantastic race and was just as exciting for the parents and coaches watching from the side of the track! 👏🏁

Huge well done to all of our athletes who competed. It’s fantastic to see so many Marlborough athletes getting out there, competing, supporting each other and enjoying their athletics 🧡

Another Saturday, another fantastic morning of parkrunning for our Marlborough Athletics members! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

🧡 Lorraine took on Battersea parkrun, where she was joined by her daughter for her very first parkrun – what a brilliant way to start her parkrun journey!

🧡 Catriona & Ali were parkrunning further afield at Jamaica Pond parkrun in Boston, USA, showing that wherever you are in the world, there’s a parkrun waiting for you.

🧡 Henry took on a new challenge by volunteering as the 18-minute pacer at Chippenham parkrun for the very first time, helping fellow runners chase their target times while giving back to the parkrun community.

🧡 David also had a great run at Chippenham parkrun, finishing just behind Henry after making the most of the pacing effort.

Well done to everyone! Whether you’re running, volunteering, pacing or introducing someone to their very first parkrun, you’re all helping to make the parkrun community such a special one.

We’re always proud to see Marlborough Athletics represented both close to home and further afield. 👏🧡

👋 A big welcome to all of our new followers!

We thought it was the perfect time to introduce ourselves and tell you a little more about who we are.

🧡 Marlborough Athletics is a friendly and inclusive athletics club based at the Marlborough College Athletics Track.

We welcome athletes from Year 2 (around 6–7 years old) right through to adults aged 70+ and beyond.

Whether you’re taking your very first steps into athletics, looking to improve your fitness, or aiming to compete, there’s a place for you here.

Whether your goal is to:

🏅 Achieve a new PB
🤝 Meet new people
💙 Represent the club in competition

Our qualified coaches support athletes in running, jumping and throwing, helping everyone develop at their own pace in a positive and encouraging environment.

We also compete in track & field, cross country and road running events throughout the year, with opportunities for all ages and abilities.

Above all, we’re a community. We celebrate every milestone - whether it’s a first training session, a first race, a new PB or a county vest.

🏆 Championship action in Bedford! 🏆

On Sunday, two of our Marlborough Athletics athletes travelled to Bedford to compete at the England Athletics Age Group & Junior Para Championships. 👏💙💛

⭐ Evie put in a fantastic performance to finish 4th in the Under 16 Girls’ Long Jump.

⭐ Freddie also competed brilliantly in the Under 18 Men’s 110m Hurdles, taking on a strong field of athletes from across the country.

It was great to see both athletes representing Marlborough Athletics at such a prestigious event, and we’re incredibly proud of their performances.

☀️ Another hot weekend, another fantastic effort from our Marlborough Athletics runners! 👏

A huge well done to Henry, who proudly represented Marlborough Athletics at Lydiard Park parkrun, smashing out yet another 5K PB with an incredible 17:09 despite the scorching conditions! 🔥💨

Meanwhile, Lorraine took on The Old Showfield parkrun, continuing to fly the flag for our senior athletes with another great run.

It’s fantastic to see both our junior and senior members getting out and enjoying parkruns in different parts of the country.

Whether you’re chasing a new PB or simply getting the miles in, it’s always great to see Marlborough Athletics members out running.

🧡 Heddington 5K 🧡

From the smiles before the start to the well-earned tired faces at the finish, our senior athletes gave it their all at the Heddington 5K on Wednesday evening! 🏃☀️

The warm conditions made for a challenging evening of racing, but everyone showed fantastic determination and resilience from start to finish.

Whether chasing a PB, racing competitively or simply enjoying the event, every runner should be proud of their effort.

🧡 Senior Athletics League – Andover 🧡

A fantastic day for our senior athletes at the Senior Athletics League fixture in Andover on Sunday!

Our team put in some excellent performances across a range of events, with everyone contributing valuable points throughout the day. Their efforts helped Team Kennet and Marlborough secure an impressive 3rd place overall. 👏

A special congratulations goes to Lorraine, who achieved a new 1500m PB - a brilliant reward for all of her hard work and dedication! 🎉

Well done to everyone who represented the club. Your commitment, teamwork and determination continue to make us proud.
