Our U13 Colts put in a shift over in Cricklade on Sunday, in what may just have been the hottest game ever! 🥵

Parents were lucky enough to seek shelter under the umbrellas, but we kept the team well hydrated with extra drinks and shade breaks.

Cricklade's bowling was sharp, so thankfully (can I say that?!), with over half of our batters only facing 5 or less balls, game time was cut a little short!! 🫣

Well done to the Cresswell Boys though, who had the winning partnership on the day and faced 57 and 43 balls each and racked up 53 runs between them - they deserve a special mention as the remainder of the team only scored 11 between them!

Cricklade obviously fancied an early finish too, so they didn't waste time in reaching their target to win - and did so without losing any wickets - well done to them! ☺️

With so much rain on Saturday, Sunday's match was a bit "hit and miss" and that's not just the weather we're talking about! 🤣

Super proud of our U13 Colts for a fantastic team effort in their match on Sunday.

Ramsbury won the toss and fielded first (good move, but we'll come on to that!)

The bowling and fielding from Ramsbury was OUTSTANDING and a huge improvement. Extras were way down on previous games 🙌 3 catches out in the field 🙌🙌 and wickets galore 🙌🙌🙌. Swindon finished on 173/9 - a good run rate - we almost got them all out 💪

Next up - Ramsbury up to Bat. Swindon were on fire with their bowling and our batting.......let's just put it down to the heat.

I'll get to the point - they bowled us all out for 37 🫣

Ramsbury played their best game yet out in the field and we commend them for their efforts, but well played Swindon - some very talented bowlers.

They all deserved a medal for playing out in that heat! 🥵

Thursday evening marked the first of our mixed matches for this season, against the mighty Newbury Rugby Club 💪

The sun was shining, the drinks were flowing and a fabulous evening of cricket was had! 🍻

After taking the defeat last season, Ramsbury managed to pip the opposition to the post and come away with a win! 🙌

Watch this space as the Rugby Club have challenged us to a re-match in July, where they will try and reclaim their (mini) Trophy 🏆😃
