The Mustangs signed off their final home league fixture in style with a fiercely contested draw against HBW—one of only two sides to have taken points off them all season.
It was the Mustangs who struck first, as Ted produced a surging, powerful run that cut straight through the HBW lines before unleashing an unstoppable shot to give the hosts the lead. It was a statement moment—but HBW were never going to roll over. Showing their quality and resilience, they worked their way back into the game.
The Mustangs arguably produced their most cohesive and fluid football of the season, linking passes with confidence and moving as a unit with real elegance. Every player stepped up.
At the back, Roman proved a wall between the posts, making crucial saves to keep HBW at bay. In front of him, Nick, Arlo, and Austin delivered outstanding defensive performances—strong in the tackle, composed under pressure, and excellent in transitioning play forward.
HBW showed why they’ve been such a tough opponent this season. They pushed forward with intent and repeatedly challenged the Mustangs, even taking the lead at stages and forcing the hosts to dig deep.
The midfield battle was relentless, but the Mustangs’ engine room stood out. Ethan was tireless, breaking up play and distributing effectively. Freddie M provided energy and width, making dangerous forward runs and whipping balls into the box, while OG Freddie thrived in an advanced role, posing a constant attacking threat and getting on the scoresheet.

The improvement in the Mustangs from the team that first stepped onto the pitch in September to the side seen today is unrecognisable, and every player should be extremely proud of how far they’ve come individually and as a unit.
