GARY AND MATT JUST MISS OUT IN TITLE
Gary and Matt took to the live stream this to face Wiltshire. A great start saw Matt and Gary take a 7-2 lead but Kyle Anderson and Scott Edwards roared back with counts of 3 and 4 to level things up at 11-11. Matt killed the next end with a fantastic last bowl but unfortunately couldn’t kill it again and they dropped a 5. Wiltshire took control and ran out 25-11 winners. A great effort from Gary and Matt - what a run guys! Congratulations to Kyle and Scott - enjoy your celebrations!

🔵Men’s Singles🔵
Jordy’s run ended with a tight 21-18 defeat to Chris Beard from Bedfordshire. Jordy found himself 5-2 down but another run of ends bringing the mat up so him wrestle the score to 12-5 in his favour. Bowls England National Finals Day 15

🟡Men’s Pairs🟡
FINAL LOOMS FOR GARY AND MATT
Gary and Matt took to the live stream in the afternoon to face Northamptonshire. Northamptonshire started the better of the teams with back to back 3s to start, which helped them to a 9-2 lead. This did not phase the lads as Matt put the jack in the ditch on back to back ends to close the gap. From this point on, Gary and Matt played some outstanding bowls and closed out the game with an end to spare! Well done guys and good luck later! Watch out for the live stream link - I’ll apologise for the commentator now!!

🟢Women’s Singles🟢

Gary and Matt started the day with a comfortable 24-6 victory over Yorkshire in a game that they were always in control of! This afternoon’s Quarter Final against Cumbria was a much different affair. Gary and Matt found themselves 16-5 down and 7 down in the head. Matt managed to secure shot with his last bowl and managed to wrestle the momentum. Going into the 17th end, the score was 16-16 and they played another great end to pick a 4 up to lead 20-16 playing the last, where they dropped a 1. What a comeback from the lads! Lincolnshire’s only representation on Day 13 came in the form of Gary and Matt, who secured two wins to progress to the Last 16 at 9am tomorrow. They faced Kent at 12:45 and raced out to an early lead. Kent made the score close towards the end of the game but Matt and Gary closed out a 17-15 victory. Against Hertfordshire this afternoon, the game looked to be won with the score at 18-13 with 2 ends to play. Some great play from Hertfordshire saw them force an extra end, but Gary and Matt held their nerve to secure the victory. Well done guys and good luck tomorrow!

Bowls England National Finals Results

🟡Women’s Triples🟡
Louise, Pen and Annie’s campaign ended in a last end loss in the Quarter Finals. They started the day with a topsy turvy encounter with Bedfordshire. A 6 early on in the game was cancelled out quickly and the girls found themselves 12-6 down. A strong second half of the game saw the girls play some great bowls to convert the deficit into a 26-16 win. In the Quarter Finals, they faced an inform Essex triple who always found themselves just in front throughout the game. Louise, Penny and Annie dug in well to have a shot on the last end to win the game. Annie’s last bowl just caught the front bowl which unfortunately took her off target.

🔵Men’s Triples🔵
Both Lincolnshire Triples lost tight battles in the opening round. Ben, Dan and Ben had a strong middle part of the game to get them back to within touching distance but unfortunately lost out 19-14.
Ian, Dion and Mathew also struggled to start with finding themselves 10-2 down. They also produced a strong second half to find themselves 2 down playing the last end. Mathew put the jack in the ditch with his second bowl to lay 1, narrowly missing taking a bowl off to secure the 3 for the win.

🟢Women’s Pairs🟢
Ruby and Chelsea faced Cambridgeshire this morning. They found themselves 10-5 down at 10 ends and that’s where the momentum changed. Chelsea put the jack in the ditch to make 4 shots and from there, they ran out 18-13 winners. This afternoon, they played an experienced pair from Surrey. Another topsy turvy affair saw the lead change hands on multiple occasions. Ruby and Chelsea found themselves 17-13 down playing the last end. Chelsea had a shot to make 5, narrowly missing with her last resulting in a 17-14 loss.

Good luck to Gary and Matt who play Kent at 9am tomorrow.

Update on the last 3 days at the Bowls England National Finals!

🔵Ladies Fours🔵
Caroline, Chloe, Ruby and Chelsea took to the green to play Devon on Thursday afternoon. They started the better racing out to a 10-6 lead. Devon pegged them back and lead 16-14 going into the last end. An unlucky result with Chelsea’s first bowl and then a narrow miss with her last resulted in an unfortunate loss.

🟢Men’s Fours🟢
Den, Nick, Gary and Kris’ first trip to Leamington ended in a narrow 17-12 loss to Cambridgeshire. It was a tight game, which the Sleaford Town boys were always slightly behind and could not get their noses in front. A great effort from the boys.
Steve, Ash, Martin and Dom had a little bit more success with 2 great wins on Friday. They started well against Norfolk, racing out to a 15-4 lead. Norfolk piled on the pressure and pegged them back to 17-12, but the boys finished strongly to win 20-13. They then were always in control against Yorkshire cruising to a 25-9 victory. In the last 16, they faced Gloucestershire. A tight first half saw them level at 8-8. Gloucestershire found the better bowls at the right times and unfortunately the lads lost 18-11. Good luck to the Gloucestershire four in the semi final later today.

🟡Ladies Triples🟡
Louise, Pen and Annie notched up two victories on Friday to see them safely through to the last 16. They found themselves just behind at the half way stage against Hertfordshire but finished strongly to overturn the slight deficit to run out 17-10 winners. The afternoon game was much more comfortable as they were always in control running out 23-11 winners. They are currently playing their last 16 game against Bedfordshire, with the score being Lincolnshire 6 Bedfordshire 5 at 4 ends! Keep going girls!!

Ben, Dan and Ben from Royal Mail Cart and Ian, Dion and Mathew from Grantham also start their triples campaigns today! Good luck to them! 🤞🏻

Bowls England National Finals Day 7

🟡Women’s Under 24 Singles 🟡
In her last 16 clash with 2021 champion Kat Bowman from Leicestershire, Chloe did not get off to the best start, finding herself 14-0 down. Despite her opponent being in top form, Chloe dug in well and reduced the deficit to 19-14 before Kat scored the two shots she needed to complete the victory. Great effort Chloe!

🔵Men’s Under 24 Singles🔵
Disappointment for Owen and James as they both lost to in form opponents on Day 7. Owen struggled to start with, finding himself 9-0 and 18-10 down. He did give himself a chance but unfortunately lost out 21-18, with Paul Shilton gaining a measure of revenge for the junior pairs.
James started well with a 21-12 victory over Reece Graham from Hampshire. He then faced Norfolk’s Ryan Fox on A5 this afternoon. Ryan started the better of the two players, racing out to a commanding lead. James unfortunately had no answer to Ryan’s precise bowls, losing out 21-3. Hard luck guys!

Good luck Caroline, Chloe, Ruby and Chelsea in the Women’s Fours tomorrow! They face Devon at 9am on D3!
