🏆 Cup Match Report: Carlton FC ⚽️

Today we faced a tough challenge against Carlton FC, a team who normally compete in the league above us, and the boys can be proud of the effort they put in.

We made a fast start, taking the game to Carlton with high energy and some excellent football. Our pressure and passing were rewarded as we took the lead, showing that we were more than capable of competing with a team from the league above.

Carlton responded with an equaliser, but at half time the scores were level and it was all to play for. The boys had given everything in the first half and put themselves in a great position going into the second.

The second half proved tougher, with Carlton’s quality beginning to show and making life difficult for us. Despite that, there were some fantastic battling performances right across the team, with everyone continuing to work hard and fight until the final whistle. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a way back into the game and eventually came away with the defeat.

👏 Parents’ Player of the Match – Charlie
Charlie was outstanding in his position today, putting in a strong performance and making some excellent tackles and interceptions. A well-deserved award for a great individual display.

🧤 Manager’s Player of the Match – Guy
Guy rolled back the years today, stepping into goal to support the team and putting in a fantastic performance. He made some great saves throughout the game and showed exactly what it means to put the team first. Brilliant effort, Guy!

Although the result wasn’t what we wanted, there are plenty of positives to take from today. We competed well against a team from the league above, showed great energy and played some excellent football at times.

Next week we’re away against North Lindum Hawks, so it’s all about looking ahead, keeping our chins up and getting back to work. 💪⚽

⚽ SEASON OPENER | CONINGSBY ⚽

The season opener is finally here, and today saw the lads make the trip to Coningsby!

After a handful of pre-season friendlies over the summer, there’s nothing quite like getting back to the real thing — and the boys certainly didn’t disappoint!

The first half was a tight affair, with our opponents edging ahead. We created plenty of opportunities ourselves, but unfortunately the ball just wasn’t quite falling our way.

After the break, though, the lads stepped it up! 💪 The passing improved, the momentum grew and we started creating chance after chance.

A quick-fire double from Fabian ⚽️⚽️ deservedly put us ahead, and some fantastic, committed performances across the team ensured we kept our noses in front.

We had plenty of opportunities to extend the lead, but in the end we came away with a well-deserved victory! 🏆👏

⭐ Parents’ Player of the Match – Adil
A fantastic display of commitment and determination throughout. Adil made some brilliant interceptions, showed great energy and never stopped working for the team. 👏

⭐ Manager’s Player of the Match – Arun
A really impressive performance from Arun, who really grew into the game and made some fantastic saves. He commanded his box brilliantly and played a big part in securing the win. 🧤👏

It was also great to see full debuts for Freddie and Arun, both of whom have settled into the team really comfortably 💙💛

A brilliant way to start the season, and plenty to build on! 💙

We’re back to training on Thursday before a cup game against Carlton next weekend — and we can’t wait!

The team have been working hard in preparation and are excited to get out there, enjoy the game, and kick off the new season with plenty of energy and team spirit. Come on, Market Rasen! ⚽ 🙌🏻

There is also no training next week due to coach availability

We will return to training at Market Rasen Leisure Centre on 3rd September, our last session before the season starts 💪🏼⚽️

Due to the forecasted temperatures, we’ve made the decision to cancel training tomorrow evening (13th August).

The health and wellbeing of our players has to be our priority, and we feel this is the right decision to keep everyone safe.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank everyone for their understanding.

Another top training session at Market Rasen Leisure Centre

Tonight’s focus was on creating space on the pitch and improving our positional awareness. The players worked hard throughout the session, showing great effort, enthusiasm, and a real willingness to learn.

Last night marked our first pre-season friendly as a newly formed team, taking on MRFC U12s, and it was fantastic to welcome several new players and coaches as we begin an exciting season together.

Pre-season is all about building foundations—improving match sharpness, experimenting with different positions, and testing new formations ahead of the competitive campaign. The result is secondary; the focus is on development, learning, and growing as a team.

It was an excellent first outing, with both sides playing some great football and showing plenty of quality throughout. There were lots of positives to take away, and we’re excited to continue building on this performance.

Next up, we go again on Sunday as we face North Lindum. Looking forward to another valuable test and another step forward together ⚽️💪🏼

Tomorrow night’s training is a friendly fixture against the U12s ⚽️

It’s our first opportunity to put our new setup into practice, and we’re looking forward to seeing the team in action. 🫡

The focus will be on players experiencing specific roles and different formations, with everyone getting opportunities through regular rotation.

The emphasis is on positivity, communication, and supporting one another throughout the game. Pre-season is about building sharpness, fitness, and confidence through effort—not the final score.

Let’s enjoy it, work hard, and take another step forward together 💪🏼⚽️
