From months of training hard and sitting at desk all day I started to get some niggles. Went to see my good friend who done a great job on my muscles. Still more work needed but itโ€™s a start. Also got told off for not stretching and foam rolling ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I've seen it too often in the gym where people grab dumbbells or free plates and start swinging their arms out and back and up and down (as in video on left) thinking they are warming up their rotator cuffs (RC).โฃ

This is not working the RCs correctly. The force is pointing down through the wrists and forearms so you are basically doing a bicep isometric hold.โฃ
โฃ
Using a cable machine or resistance band will allow the force to go through the shoulders working the RCs correctly. (video on right)โฃ

Chris has a busy job and is often away from home staying in hotels yet he has already lost 10kg (22 lbs). Heโ€™s done banded exercises while in the hotel and worked out in his garage when home. โฃ

Monday to Friday you're on point with training and nutrition but then over the weekend you have some guilty pleasures (mine are wine ๐Ÿท and chocolate ๐Ÿซ) then it all falls apart. The late dirty burger, the greasy breakfast and big roast dinner with dessert.โฃ

Don't sabotage your work totally. The situation can be salvaged.โฃ

Here are my top 5 tips to stop self sabotageโฃ

1. Get back on track as soon as possible. Don't let the 1 evening of over indulgence spill intoโฃ
an all day or all weekend session.โฃ
โฃ
2. What's done is done. You can't change the past but you can plan for the future. Reduce caloriesโฃ
during the coming weeks to claw back some of the extra calories consumedโฃ
โฃ
3. Be aware of the situation that may have triggered the over eating. When you are aware youโฃ
can be mindful if the signs are showing before you start over indulging again.โฃ
โฃ
4. Look at your diet. Are you too restrictive? Have you cut out all the good stuff which is makingโฃ
you crave it at the weekend.โฃ
โฃ
5. Look at weekend habits. Your weekend routine is probably different than during the week so you probably have more time on your hands and are bored. Boredom leads to eatingโฃ

I'm all for flexible dieting knowing I can eat the foods I like and still continue to reach my fitness goal. This is what I teach my clients and this is why they get great results as it keeps them consistent and we all know consistency is key. ๐Ÿ—๏ธโฃ

As you move along the board when you land on a ladder you move up the board and when you land on a snake you go backwards.โฃ

Being on a diet is the same. There will be times when you hit that ladder ๐Ÿชœ and everything is great and you make great progress.โฃ

Other times you will land on that snake ๐Ÿ and few like youโ€™ve stopped make progress.โฃ

But as in the game keep rolling the dice ๐ŸŽฒโฃ
