Welcome to Our New Head Coach – Alistair Donaldson

We are delighted to announce that Alistair will be joining Market Drayton Tennis Club as our new Head Coach, taking over the coaching programme from 14th June 2026.

Alistair's connection with the club goes back more than 20 years, having first joined as a junior after discovering tennis through a school flyer. It's fantastic to see him return to MDTC in this new role and continue his tennis journey with us.

Well done to Felicity who had a fantastic time today representing Shropshire in the 8U Girls Team in the County Cup at the University of Warwick Tennis Centre. It was a brilliant day and she throughly enjoyed the experience.

🎾 Racket Demo Event with Alistair Donaldson – Everyone Welcome! 🎾

We’re excited to invite all past, present, and prospective members to a special Racket Demo Event at Market Drayton Tennis Club, with rackets provided by Ali!

This is a great chance to try out a wide range of rackets, with Ali on hand to offer advice and help you find the right fit for your game. Whether you’re upgrading, starting out, or just curious, this is a rare chance to properly test different rackets on court.

The event is open to all, including current, former or prospective members, friends and family.

Expect a friendly atmosphere, time on court, and plenty of opportunity to chat, play, and get involved.

Another great result for Market Drayton Tennis Club juniors this weekend.

George competed in an LTA U11 tournament and won all but one of his matches, going on to win the consolation draw 👏

Thanks to coach Lyle Akins for supporting him throughout the day.

Great to see two Under 8's from Market Drayton Tennis Club at the North & Midlands West Tournament today at the Cathie Sabin Community Tennis Centre.

Felicity had a fantastic day, winning 3 matches, and Hector picked up his first win at this level, a great achievement.

Thanks to Simon Haddleton and Sarah Rutherford for organising a well-run event.
