🎾 Team 5 Match Update

A fabulous evening of tennis for MDTC Team 5 on Thursday, away against Hinstock LTC Team 2 in the mixed doubles, Autumn League.

Alex & Geoff, Marina & Mark battled through some very close sets, with the match finishing a well-earned 2–2 draw.

The tennis was followed by a lovely trip to the pub for sandwiches and a swift drink; a very enjoyable evening all round!

Thanks to Hinstock for the warm welcome. We don’t have long to wait for round two, with the home rematch on Monday! 🎾

Green Ball: George won, with Fabian second.
Orange Ball: Felicity won, Theo was second and first boy, with Hector third.
Red Ball: Felicity won, Hector was a second and first boy, with William and Vasylieva runners-up.

A lovely afternoon of mixed doubles yesterday, with plenty of friendly competition, good-natured banter and plenty of cake! 🎾🍰

Congratulations to Alex and Dave, who finished as the overall winners, and to runners-up Wendy and Henry. Well done to everyone who took part, and a big thank you to Fiona Jones for organising!

🥈 Our Under 8s are runners up! 🎾

Congratulations to Hector and Felicity, who represented Market Drayton Tennis Club in the Shropshire National League Under 8 competition at the Dome in Shrewsbury

After a fantastic day of singles and doubles matches, they finished in an excellent second place. We're incredibly proud of the way they played, supported each other and represented the club.

Well done to our Ryan and Alex who competed in the regional ‘Play Your Way To Wimbledon’ competition this morning in Wolverhampton.
Unfortunately it wasn’t their day….they were beaten by a very strong pair from Basford Tennis Club.
