On Saturday we hosted a group from Belgium who were here for a golfing weekend and wanted to try lawn bowls. The weather held for about 20 minutes before the heavens opened so we swiftly moved them indoors for a game of short mat bowls. It's not as easy as it looks but they soon mastered it. The bar was open, they got some music going and a good time was had by all.

Today we hosted this group from London who had come down to Margate for the weekend and wanted something different to do on their stag do. They had a great time, playing bowls and making up competitions and were fantastic guests. Just shows that bowls is for everyone, age immaterial. So if you are looking for something different to do for a party or celebration why not contact us. It costs a few pounds per player, we provide everything and the bar will be open.

Our next monthly quiz night will be on Saturday 23rd August. £5 each, 6 people per team. Bring your own nibbles, bar open, drinks at club prices plus raffle. These are very popular events so if you have not been before please let us know in advance if possible by phoning Wendy on 07967 339258.

A great time was had by all yesterday afternoon at our first BBQ and funday of the season. A great turnout of members, family and friends with the sun shining all afternoon. A great social event and an opportunity to try bowls or petanque. Our next one will be in August, date to be confirmed.

The weather is looking good for our open day this weekend. This is a free event and open to all ages and abilities, and gives people the opportunity to give lawn bowls or petanque a try. Full membership or social membership available for the current season to anyone who would like to join.
