“I was perimenopausal, heavy, exhausted & my body hurt”

Those were Charlotte’s words when she first came to me.

Like so many women navigating perimenopause, she felt as though she’d lost herself. The body she recognised was changing, her energy was low, confidence was at rock bottom, and physically and emotionally she just didn’t feel like “her” anymore 😭

But Charlotte wasn’t prepared to accept that this was simply her new normal 👏🏼

After spending most of her life as a West End performer, being fit, strong and active had always been part of her identity. Stepping away from that career, combined with the challenges of perimenopause, left her feeling stuck in a rut 🤯

So she decided it was time to do something for herself again 🙏🏼

For just over a year, Charlotte showed up twice a week and gave every session everything she had. She embraced every challenge, pushed herself outside her comfort zone and proved time and time again what a powerhouse she truly is 💪🏼🔥

The result? A fitter, stronger, more capable body 🙌🏼

✅ A significant change in body composition
✅ More muscle, less body fat
✅ Clothes she hadn’t worn in years fitting again
✅ New outfits that made her feel amazing
✅ And perhaps most importantly... her confidence came flooding back

We didn’t calorie count. After years in an industry that hadn’t always encouraged a healthy relationship with food, Charlotte chose a different approach. Instead, we focused on better food choices, sensible portions and consistency. Combined with regular strength training, the changes were incredible 🤗

Perimenopause doesn’t mean the best years are behind you 👊🏼

You don’t have to surrender to feeling tired, weak, uncomfortable in your own skin or accept every symptom as inevitable 🙏🏼

With the right support, consistent training and sustainable habits, it is absolutely possible to feel strong, confident and like YOU again 💪🏼

Charlotte is living proof that it’s possible! 👏🏼😍🔥

They’re NOT the ONLY sign of progress 👇🏼

🤯 If the scales jump up overnight, it doesn’t automatically mean fat gain

🤯 If the scales stay the same, that doesn’t mean nothing is happening either!

🙌🏼 You can be making AMAZING progress even when the scales aren’t moving much or at all!

🤷🏻‍♀️ Why?👉🏼

Because weight fluctuates DAILY due to:
👉🏼 water retention
👉🏼 hormones
👉🏼 sodium intake
👉🏼 digestion
👉🏼 stress
👉🏼 muscle inflammation from training
👉🏼 glycogen storage

👏🏼 You can be building muscle, losing body fat, improving your health & becoming fitter… while the scales barely move!

🫣 Sometimes the scales stay the same while your body composition completely changes!

😭 This is why obsessing over one number can become so discouraging!

⚖️ Fat loss isn’t just about becoming “lighter.”

🙏🏼 It’s about becoming healthier, fitter, stronger, more confident & building habits you can actually sustain long term!

📉 Yes, weight can be a useful data point

🤬 But it should never be the sole thing deciding whether you’re “doing well” or not!

Real progress is about more than a number on the bathroom floor! 🥳

Don’t let one random weigh-in ruin your mood or convince you you’ve failed! 👊🏼

✅ Take photos
✅ Take measurements
✅ Notice how your clothes fit
✅ Track your strength
✅ Pay attention to your energy, mood & fitness

Zoom out 🚀
Look at the bigger picture 👀

That’s where the real progress lives 👏🏼

18kg down & 10 years younger! 👏

Zoe came to me after a big birthday & in her words, she’d absolutely milked it 😅

She was ready for a reality check after eating & drinking her body weight in all the good stuff 🍴🥂

That was October 2025 & we got to work right away 🙌🏼

🚫 No extremes
🚫 No cutting out everything she loved
✅ Just a daily step target & a calorie goal.

Zoe still enjoyed her lifestyle — including her evening G&Ts 🍸 — she just made them fit with her calorie goal....because fat loss has to be realistic if it’s going to last! 🙏🏼

And Zoe is BUSY...Lunches out, dinners with friends, weekends away, holidays… yet she still lost weight 👏🏼

HOW? 🤯

👉 She didn’t let one meal turn into a whole weekend
👉 She planned ahead instead of making rushed choices
👉 She made smarter swaps
👉 She stayed consistent with her steps
👉 She kept active with pickleball & circuit classes

THE RESULT? 🔥

✨ 18kg down (just under 3 stone) in a year

But what I’m most proud of… she’s maintained her weight this past 7 months! 👏🏼

The “maintenance phase” is often the hardest part of the journey...it’s where most people slip 👀😱

Because complacency creeps in...

Once the goal is reached, habits relax. Little treats start creeping in more often, steps drop slightly & calories slowly increase! It’s rarely one big mistake, just small daily slips that add up over time 🫣

Not Zoe. We simply adjusted to fortnightly check-ins to keep her accountable & she’s stayed consistent! 👏🏼

She didn’t need to lose weight… but now she has...

😍 She looks younger
💪 Feels fitter & is stronger than ever

She’s had so many compliments (which still surprise her!) & has even inspired others to start their own journeys 🙏🏼

😭 The only downside? A whole new wardrobe… sorry not sorry Zoe 🤪

Zoe is proof that age is just a number — not an excuse! 🙌🏼

If you want to lose weight, you can, no matter your age! You just need the right mindset, support & accountability 🙌

Congratulations Zoe you look incredible! 🫶🏼

Sound familiar!? 👀 Scroll ➡️

If I had £1 for every time a new client said, “I eat healthy but I’m not losing weight…”

I’d be retired already… somewhere hot, on a beach, with a luxury apartment to call home 🤭☀️🏝️

But THIS 👇 is exactly why…

Just look at the first image 👀

That “healthy” avocado & eggs on sourdough? 👉 704 calories
That “unhealthy” fry-up? 👉 435 calories

That “healthy” porridge bowl? 👉 996 calories
That “unhealthy” McMuffin? 👉 552 calories

Let that sink in for a second…🤯

Your body doesn’t care if a food is labelled “healthy” or “unhealthy” for weight loss...

👉 It cares about calories

Fat loss comes down to one thing:

✅ A calorie deficit (burning more than you consume)

And here’s where people get caught out…😱

You can be:
✅ Eating clean
✅ Choosing whole foods
✅ Avoiding “junk”

🚫…but still not lose weight

Why? Because a lot of “healthy” foods are calorie-dense:
• Oils
• Nuts & nut butters
• Seeds
• Eggs
• Avocado

All great for you… but easy to overdo!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Especially when you combine them in one meal (like in the picture 👀)

So it’s VERY easy to:
✔️ Feel on track
❌ Not actually be in a calorie deficit

This doesn’t mean:
❌ Stop eating healthy
❌ Cut out nutritious foods

It just means:
✅ Portion size matters
✅ Calories count
✅ Balance is key

“Healthy eating” & “eating for fat loss” are NOT always the same thing.

You don’t need to eat less healthy…

You just need to eat the right amount for your goal 🙏🏼👊🏼

It’s so much more than a weight loss journey 🙏🏼

Not only is she down over 4 stone…her entire life has transformed in ways she never imagined 🙌🏼

Her weight loss has helped her completely reverse Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension — literally stopping her from going blind 👀

But it’s not just physical…

The girl I met in June 2025 was deeply self-conscious, describing herself as “ugly” & “undesirable” 💔

Now? Her confidence has gone through the roof 🔥

🥳 She’s buying clothes she always wanted to wear but never felt comfortable in
🥳 She’s buying underwear that actually fits & makes her feel desirable & sexy
🥳 She’s changed her hair
🥳 She’s elevated her style, and finally feels like herself.
🥳 She’s found the confidence to walk away from toxic people — something she didn’t feel strong enough to do before.
🥳 She’s no longer “an absolute hermit” (her words)

She’s out, socialising, saying yes more, meeting new people & building a life she enjoys 🤗

She’s become more extroverted, made new friends AND even feels ready to date again — something she couldn’t face a year ago! 🥰

In the gym? Massive shift 👏🏼💪🏼

From oversized t-shirts & constantly looking over her shoulder feeling judged...to walking in wearing just a sports bra & leggings/shorts with confidence 🔥

And the best part?

❌ No extremes
❌ No cutting out foods she loves
❌ No “all or nothing” mindset

👉 Just a calorie target & step goal

✅ Holidays enjoyed
✅ Meals & drinks out
✅ Still eating foods she loves

What started as a weight loss journey has become so much more!! 🤗🥰

A complete life transformation & we’re not done yet!! 🫶🏼

Let’s talk about what’s REALLY happening👇

Ever stepped on the scales after a slightly indulgent meal out & thought… HOW did that happen?! 😳

I was up 1.4kg after a big plate of nachos (cheese, meat, sour cream, guacamole, salsa… the works 😅) but here’s the truth ⬇️

That spike is NOT fat gain! 🙌🏼

To gain 1.4kg of fat, you’d need to eat around 10,500+ calories on top of your usual daily intake… in one day! 🤯

Highly unlikely 😅

“So what is it then?” I hear you ask....😳

➡️ Water retention – Meals like nachos are often higher in salt, which makes your body hold onto water

➡️ Carbs – The tortilla chips replenish glycogen stores & for every 1g of glycogen, your body stores water alongside it (around 3–4g of water per 1g of carb!!)

➡️ Food volume – There’s simply more food sitting in your digestive system

➡️ Inflammation – Rich, heavier foods can cause temporary bloating & inflammation

All of this = temporary scale increase!! 🙏🏼

NOT body fat!! 🚫

This is why it’s so important not to fixate on the number on the scales day-to-day 🙅‍♀️

One meal out will NOT derail your progress!! 👏🏼

What matters is what you do consistently over time!! ✅

🫶🏼 Your journey is about balance

🥰 It’s about building a lifestyle that’s sustainable & enjoyable, not restrictive!

🤷🏻‍♀️ Because if you can’t enjoy nachos now & then without guilt… (or whatever your fave food is) what’s the point? 🌮

Look at the bigger picture....Stay consistent..... Trust the process!! 🙏🏼💪🏼

It’s NEVER too late to start something new & be good at it! 🫶

2 years ago, aged 51, Susan wasn’t “a runner”, she tried a 5km which took 41 minutes & she was in pain 😱

Now her 5km PB is 29:02 & this weekend, during a half marathon, she hit a 10km PB of 59:00 & a half marathon PB too! 👏🏼

At 51, she didn’t just start running, she committed to it! 🙏🏼 Showing up on the days she didn’t feel like it. Trusting the process. Building discipline, patience & resilience one run at a time! 👏🏼

This weekend’s PBs weren’t luck they were from consistency, courage & doing the work when no one’s watching, the mental strength built in the quiet, unseen miles.! 🙌🏼

She’s ticked off multiple10km, 16km, trail races & half marathons: London, the Isle of Wight, Southampton, Barcelona to name a few places, with more adventures ahead! 🥳

Running has become more than just exercise, it’s her escape, her therapy, HER time. Especially while being a full-time carer for her elderly dad, it’s where she finds herself again! 🥰

And that’s what this is really about...Not the finish times. Not the medals. But the person she’s become in the process 🤗

It’s been incredible to guide her training, watch her grow stronger, faster & more confident with every block! 🥰

Bring on the rest of this year’s races - I’m excited to watch her continue to challenge herself physically & mentally & realise just what she’s capable of! 👏🏼👊🏼

Congratulations I’m so proud of you! 🤗

She could have gone blind! 😱

My client started with me in June 2025… a size 20, bordering a 22 & facing something very serious! 🫣

She’d been told she needed to lose weight or risk going blind due to **Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension** 😱

(put simply – this is when pressure builds up around the brain & eyes, which can damage your vision & in the worst case, lead to complete sight loss… which is exactly where she was heading) 😱

Fast forward just 6 months… & her neurologist confirmed something incredible 👏🏼

🥳The condition had been completely reversed
🥳 She no longer needs her medication
🥳 She won’t lose her sight

For a 23-year-old girl… this is LIFE CHANGING! 🙌🏼

More recently, she went for her annual eye test & the ophthalmologist was honestly gobsmacked.
The pressure behind her eyes — which was once so high it was OFF the scale & classed as an *ocular emergency* — is now completely normal. Gone. 👏🏼

They were so shocked by the transformation (all from her 4 stone weight loss!) that they even asked if she’d been using weight loss injections…

Nope 🙅🏼‍♀️ This was achieved through a consistent, balanced approach 👇🏼

❌ No extremes
❌ No cutting out foods she loves
❌ No “all or nothing” mindset

👉🏼 Just a calorie target
👉🏼 A daily step goal
👉🏼 One PT session a week with me

And she still lives her life…
✅ Holidays
✅ Meals out & drinks
✅ Enjoying food AND making progress

The change has been so drastic that she’s now being considered for a research paper… how amazing is that?! 🤯

I am SO proud of her! 🤗

She didn’t just lose weight, she changed her future 🙌🏼

Without this weight loss, she could have lost her sight!

Instead, we’ve gained her health, her confidence & her life moving forward! 🥰

This didn’t happen by chance 👇🏼

It’s the result of months of commitment — three gym sessions every week throughout the winter, often early mornings before work, when most people are still in bed 👏🏼

All that dedication went into a carefully programmed training plan designed specifically for the demands of British motorcycle racing 🙌🏼

The focus has been on building total-body strength & resilience, while also targeting the qualities riders rely on most:

💪🏼 Grip strength
💪🏼 Neck strength
💪🏼 Core stability
💪🏼 Balance
💪🏼 Coordination
💪🏼 Adductor strength for bike control
💪🏼 Shoulder stability
💪🏼 Stamina to handle the intense physical load of racing

Alongside the gym work, we’ve also been working outside the gym to reduce body fat, helping Steve become lighter, more efficient & less fatigued over race distance — all of which translates to better endurance & sharper control on the bike 🔥

And it’s clearly paying off 🥇🥇

In Steve’s words:

“I felt strong, sharp & completely in control, with the training clearly making a difference in both my stamina & confidence on the track. Every lap felt smooth & powerful.”

He also said:

“It was incredibly satisfying to feel the results of months of dedication come together. It was the perfect start to the season & a reminder that all the effort through the winter was absolutely worth it.”

Now the work continues 💪🏼

We’ll keep building through the spring as we prepare for the Isle of Man Classic TT in August, where the world’s best riders take on the legendary & unforgiving TT Mountain Circuit — one of the most demanding & dangerous race courses in the world 🫣

I’m incredibly proud as a coach to have helped Steve reach this point & excited to keep pushing him towards peak physical & mental condition for what lies ahead 🏍️💪🥇🤞🏼

4kg heavier but healthier & happier 👇🏼

The scales don’t tell the full story 👀 And this is exactly why you shouldn’t fixate on them 🙏🏼

Left photo: I’d finished a fat loss phase and weighed 45kg 👏🏼

Lighter, yes… but with no real shape, very little muscle & a bum as flat as a pancake 🫣

Right photo: I weigh 49kg 😱

I’m 4kg heavier!

But look at the difference! 👀🍑

Now I have shape, muscle, glutes & strength! 💪🏼

My body looks healthier, stronger & more athletic! 🙌🏼

If you only looked at the scales, you’d think I’d gone backwards 🤷🏻‍♀️

And it’s very easy to drive yourself mad thinking that...

Seeing the number go up & convincing yourself you’ve gained fat, undone your progress, or ruined all your hard work! 🤦🏻‍♀️

But in reality, that’s often not what’s happening at all! 🙏🏼

When you’re weight training consistently while tracking your calories, the scales can absolutely go up & that’s completely normal 👏🏼

Because the number on the scale doesn’t tell you whether that weight is muscle, body fat, water, glycogen, hormones or even food in your stomach!

You could be getting leaner, stronger, building muscle & improving your body composition… while the scales stay the same or even increase! 👊🏼

And that’s not failure. That’s progress! 🙌🏼

I would choose the body on the right every single time, even though the scales are 4kg higher! 🍑

Stop letting one number dictate how you feel about your progress! 🤬

Focus on how you look, feel, perform, your strength, your energy, your confidence & your shape! 🙏🏼

Because the real goal isn’t just to weigh less! 🤗

It’s to build a body that’s strong, healthy, capable & feels good to live in 🥳

And the scales can’t measure that 💪
