54. MENOPAUSAL. 13KG DOWN. AND RUNNING FASTER THAN EVER 👏🏼

When she first came to me, Susan wasn’t feeling confident or comfortable in her own skin 😭

Like so many women going through the menopause, she wondered whether weight gain was simply something she had to accept 🤯

Was this just her “new normal”? Was losing weight during menopause actually possible? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Alongside that, she wanted to start a completely new hobby — running 🏃🏻‍♀️

But her 5KM was slow & painful (41 minutes) & she questioned whether running was really something her body was capable of! 😓

Part of her knew she didn’t just have to accept feeling this way! She wanted professional support, a plan & reassurance that she COULD make changes! 🙌🏼

And look at her now!! 😍👏🏼

Since we started working together:

🔥 13kg (just over 2 stone) LOST
🔥 5K improved from 41:00 → 28:20
🔥 Multiple 5K, 10K, 16K & half-marathons completed
🔥 Raced across the Isle of Wight, London & Barcelona
🔥 Smashed numerous PBs
🔥 Taken up trail running & entered races
🔥 Added Pilates into the mix too!

And she’s done all of this at a pace that works for HER & her lifestyle 🙌🏼

🍽️ There’s still been meals out
🍰 There’s still been sweet treats
✈️ There’s still been holidays abroad where she can switch off, be fully present & ENJOY herself

Because achieving results doesn’t mean putting your life on hold until you reach your goal 🙏🏼

And the biggest transformation?

She feels comfortable & confident in her own skin again. And can we appreciate how much YOUNGER she looks?! 😍

At 54, she’s proof that menopause does NOT mean giving up on your goals or simply accepting feeling unhappy with your body! 👊🏼

✅ It IS possible to lose weight during menopause
✅ It IS possible to get fitter & stronger
✅ It IS possible to start something completely new later in life

You can still have goals AND have a life — the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive 🙌🏼

Menopause isn’t the end of who you were — it can be the beginning of discovering just how much you’re still capable of 🤗

“I don’t want to lift heavy because I don’t want to get bulky!”

If I had £1 for every time I’d heard this… 😂

So let’s clear something up!

You are NOT going to accidentally turn into a bodybuilder because you started challenging yourself with heavier weights! 🙏🏼

Building a significant amount of muscle takes TIME — we’re talking consistent training over months & YEARS, progressive overload, adequate protein, recovery & enough calories to support that muscle growth!

And here’s the bit I really want women to understand…

If your goal is to look more “TONED”, you actually NEED some muscle! 💪🏼

That firm, defined shape so many women are looking for comes from developing muscle — not endlessly lifting the same dumbbells because you’re frightened of getting “too big”.

If you’ve been using the same weights for the same reps week after week, eventually your body has very little reason to adapt 🫣

Your training needs to PROGRESS. 📈

That might mean gradually lifting heavier weights, doing more reps, improving your range of movement or technique, increasing appropriate training volume or simply learning to work harder within your sets! 🙏🏼

And “heavy” is relative!

I’m not telling you to walk into the gym tomorrow & attempt the heaviest weight you can possibly lift! 😳

I’m talking about gradually becoming stronger & challenging YOUR body over time! 🙏🏼

And this goes far beyond aesthetics!

As we age, maintaining muscle, strength & bone health becomes increasingly important! 🦴💪🏼

So rather than worrying about becoming “too muscular”…

I’d be far more interested in building a body that’s strong, capable & resilient for decades to come 🙌🏼

Don’t be afraid to pick up the heavier weights! 🤗

Your body might just thank you for it! 🔥

A reminder if you ever feel self-conscious about your weights…👇🏼

Worried that someone is judging the weight you’re lifting? 😳

Trust me…they’re probably not even looking! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Most people in the gym are far too busy concentrating on their own workout, their own progress & their own goals to care what you’re lifting! 🙏🏼

And even if YOU notice what someone else is lifting (& start to feel weak in comparison)...remember — you have absolutely no idea where they are on their journey! 🤗

💪🏼 Someone might be lifting heavier because they’ve been training that movement consistently for YEARS!

💪🏼 Some people are naturally stronger than others — genetics, body size, limb lengths & muscle mass can all play a part, as can previous training/sporting experience!

Someone lifting lighter might be:
👉🏼 Brand new to the movement
👉🏼 Returning after an injury
👉🏼 Coming back to an exercise they haven’t done for years (me with barbell squats!!)
👉🏼 Working on their technique or range of motion
👉🏼 Deliberately using a lighter load for their training that day for whatever reason

These photos are a perfect example! 🙌🏼

My client is currently squatting heavier than me & that’s absolutely fine! 👏🏼 She’s been consistently squatting for a while, whereas I’ve only recently started putting barbell squats back into my own training!

I’m not beating myself up because she has more weight on the bar & she certainly isn’t judging me for having less! 🫶🏼

Flip it around...I’ve been doing RDLs consistently for much longer than she has, so currently I’m lifting considerably more!

Am I judging her? 🤔 Of course not!

I’m helping her improve her technique, get stronger & eventually get to the weight I’m lifting! 💪🏼🔥

Your training is YOUR training!! 🙏🏼

Don’t let someone else’s Chapter 10 make you feel bad about your Chapter 1!! 🙏🏼

Focus on good form, progressive overload & becoming stronger than YOU were before! Because everyone belongs in the gym — regardless of what weight is on their bar! 🫶🏼💪🏼

Can you even deal with this transformation!? 🤯

When Macie first started training with me in October 2024, she lacked confidence, hid behind baggy oversized T-shirts, avoided photos & would describe herself as “disgusting.” She felt embarrassed, ashamed & struggled to see any positives in herself 😭

She’s lost over 5 stone since then, but more importantly she’s almost unrecognisable mentally & emotionally 🤗

✨ She wears clothes that show off the physique she’s worked so hard to build
✨ She no longer hides behind other people in photos
✨ She’s posting photos like these on social media - something she’d never have done before
✨ She accepts compliments and actually believes them.
✨ She’s got so much more energy, no longer gets out of breath walking up the stairs & feels healthier
✨ She’s happy, confident & proud of the woman she’s become

Because that’s the thing… it’s never just about aesthetics. Looking better is fantastic, but feeling stronger, fitter, healthier & more confident is what truly changes your life 🙌🏼

The best part? She has done the majority of this herself 👏🏼

I’ve provided guidance, support & accountability, but Macie chose to make sustainable changes with her nutrition - sensible swaps, better choices & portion control. My job has been to keep her consistent in the gym, help her get stronger & build muscle while she continued to lose body fat 💪🏼

There were no extreme diets, no food restrictions & no giving up holidays or her social life. Just small, sensible changes repeated consistently over time 🙏🏼

Now, for the first time ever, she’s genuinely happy with where she is. The goal is no longer weight loss - it’s maintaining this incredible physique, getting even stronger & creating even more shape 🔥

Macie’s proof that you don’t have to be perfect… you just have to stay consistent 😍

You're putting the work in... so why isn't your body changing? 🫣

Quite possibly because you're lifting the same weights for the same reps every week. 😳

Let me explain...

If you want to build muscle or get stronger, your body needs a reason to adapt!

Think about it...

If you comfortably leg press 100kg for 12 reps this week, then repeat 100kg for 12 reps next week... and the week after... why would your muscles need to grow?

They've already proven they can handle that workload, week in, week out! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Your body is incredibly efficient. Once it adapts to a challenge, that becomes your new normal...

That's where progressive overload comes in! 🙌🏼

It doesn't mean adding weight every workout. It simply means gradually asking your muscles to do a little more over time.

That could be:
✅ Adding a little more weight
✅ Doing an extra rep or two
✅ Adding another set
✅ Improving your technique or range of motion
✅ Slowing down the lowering phase to increase time under tension
✅ Reducing your rest periods
✅ Training close to failure (stopping only when you can't complete another rep with good form)

Before every session, ask yourself:

"What can I do better than last time?"

Small improvements, repeated consistently, lead to big results. 💪🏼

Remember... your muscles only grow when you give them a challenge they're not already adapted to. 🤯

Nothing changes if nothing changes 👊🏼

Over the next few weeks, pick just one way to progressively overload each workout 🙏🏼

Watch your strength increase, your confidence grow & your body composition begin to change 🔥

Get comfortable being uncomfortable. That's where progress happens 🥳

Start chasing progress. Your future self will thank you 🙌🏼

Let me know how you get on! 💪🏼

1 Year Working Together 🎉

We’re celebrating two milestones… a year of us working together & another birthday for this incredible woman! 🥳

When I asked her how she felt looking at these photos taken a year apart, her answer stopped me in my tracks:

“My Pops can put his arm around me now.”

Wow. ❤️

Because that right there is what this journey is really about 🤗

Yes, the scales have moved. Yes, clothes sizes have changed. Yes, her body composition is completely different. BUT the real transformation goes so much deeper than a number! 🙏🏼

Over the last year, I’ve watched her grow in confidence. She’s become far more sociable, built a wider friendship circle & started saying ‘yes’ to things she might once have avoided 👏🏼

Her wardrobe is bigger than ever, filled with much smaller clothes & she’s become so much more adventurous & expressive with her style 🙌🏼

She’s fitter. Healthier. Stronger. More resilient 💪🏼

The woman in the second photo isn’t the same woman in the first.

Not physically.
Not mentally.
Not emotionally.

Through our weekly gym sessions together & the work she’s put into her nutrition outside of the gym, she has completely changed the trajectory of her life! 🤯

And the best part? She’s earned every bit of it through consistency, patience & showing up, week after week, even when progress felt slow! 🥳

Of course, we’re not finished yet. There’s still progress to make & goals to achieve 🎯

But sometimes it’s important to pause & reflect...

🎉 To celebrate the birthdays
🎉 To celebrate the anniversaries
🎉 To celebrate the milestones

Because when you look back & realise just how far you’ve come, you understand that this journey was never just about losing weight…

It’s about gaining a whole new life 🙌🏼👏🏼🙏🏼

“I was perimenopausal, heavy, exhausted & my body hurt”

Those were Charlotte’s words when she first came to me.

Like so many women navigating perimenopause, she felt as though she’d lost herself. The body she recognised was changing, her energy was low, confidence was at rock bottom, and physically and emotionally she just didn’t feel like “her” anymore 😭

But Charlotte wasn’t prepared to accept that this was simply her new normal 👏🏼

After spending most of her life as a West End performer, being fit, strong and active had always been part of her identity. Stepping away from that career, combined with the challenges of perimenopause, left her feeling stuck in a rut 🤯

So she decided it was time to do something for herself again 🙏🏼

For just over a year, Charlotte showed up twice a week and gave every session everything she had. She embraced every challenge, pushed herself outside her comfort zone and proved time and time again what a powerhouse she truly is 💪🏼🔥

The result? A fitter, stronger, more capable body 🙌🏼

✅ A significant change in body composition
✅ More muscle, less body fat
✅ Clothes she hadn’t worn in years fitting again
✅ New outfits that made her feel amazing
✅ And perhaps most importantly... her confidence came flooding back

We didn’t calorie count. After years in an industry that hadn’t always encouraged a healthy relationship with food, Charlotte chose a different approach. Instead, we focused on better food choices, sensible portions and consistency. Combined with regular strength training, the changes were incredible 🤗

Perimenopause doesn’t mean the best years are behind you 👊🏼

You don’t have to surrender to feeling tired, weak, uncomfortable in your own skin or accept every symptom as inevitable 🙏🏼

With the right support, consistent training and sustainable habits, it is absolutely possible to feel strong, confident and like YOU again 💪🏼

Charlotte is living proof that it’s possible! 👏🏼😍🔥

They’re NOT the ONLY sign of progress 👇🏼

🤯 If the scales jump up overnight, it doesn’t automatically mean fat gain

🤯 If the scales stay the same, that doesn’t mean nothing is happening either!

🙌🏼 You can be making AMAZING progress even when the scales aren’t moving much or at all!

🤷🏻‍♀️ Why?👉🏼

Because weight fluctuates DAILY due to:
👉🏼 water retention
👉🏼 hormones
👉🏼 sodium intake
👉🏼 digestion
👉🏼 stress
👉🏼 muscle inflammation from training
👉🏼 glycogen storage

👏🏼 You can be building muscle, losing body fat, improving your health & becoming fitter… while the scales barely move!

🫣 Sometimes the scales stay the same while your body composition completely changes!

😭 This is why obsessing over one number can become so discouraging!

⚖️ Fat loss isn’t just about becoming “lighter.”

🙏🏼 It’s about becoming healthier, fitter, stronger, more confident & building habits you can actually sustain long term!

📉 Yes, weight can be a useful data point

🤬 But it should never be the sole thing deciding whether you’re “doing well” or not!

Real progress is about more than a number on the bathroom floor! 🥳

Don’t let one random weigh-in ruin your mood or convince you you’ve failed! 👊🏼

✅ Take photos
✅ Take measurements
✅ Notice how your clothes fit
✅ Track your strength
✅ Pay attention to your energy, mood & fitness

That’s where the real progress lives 👏🏼

18kg down & 10 years younger! 👏

Zoe came to me after a big birthday & in her words, she’d absolutely milked it 😅

She was ready for a reality check after eating & drinking her body weight in all the good stuff 🍴🥂

That was October 2025 & we got to work right away 🙌🏼

🚫 No extremes
🚫 No cutting out everything she loved
✅ Just a daily step target & a calorie goal.

Zoe still enjoyed her lifestyle — including her evening G&Ts 🍸 — she just made them fit with her calorie goal....because fat loss has to be realistic if it’s going to last! 🙏🏼

And Zoe is BUSY...Lunches out, dinners with friends, weekends away, holidays… yet she still lost weight 👏🏼

HOW? 🤯

👉 She didn’t let one meal turn into a whole weekend
👉 She planned ahead instead of making rushed choices
👉 She made smarter swaps
👉 She stayed consistent with her steps
👉 She kept active with pickleball & circuit classes

THE RESULT? 🔥

✨ 18kg down (just under 3 stone) in a year

But what I’m most proud of… she’s maintained her weight this past 7 months! 👏🏼

The “maintenance phase” is often the hardest part of the journey...it’s where most people slip 👀😱

Because complacency creeps in...

Once the goal is reached, habits relax. Little treats start creeping in more often, steps drop slightly & calories slowly increase! It’s rarely one big mistake, just small daily slips that add up over time 🫣

Not Zoe. We simply adjusted to fortnightly check-ins to keep her accountable & she’s stayed consistent! 👏🏼

She didn’t need to lose weight… but now she has...

😍 She looks younger
💪 Feels fitter & is stronger than ever

She’s had so many compliments (which still surprise her!) & has even inspired others to start their own journeys 🙏🏼

😭 The only downside? A whole new wardrobe… sorry not sorry Zoe 🤪

Zoe is proof that age is just a number — not an excuse! 🙌🏼

If you want to lose weight, you can, no matter your age! You just need the right mindset, support & accountability 🙌

Congratulations Zoe you look incredible! 🫶🏼

Sound familiar!? 👀 Scroll ➡️

If I had £1 for every time a new client said, “I eat healthy but I’m not losing weight…”

I’d be retired already… somewhere hot, on a beach, with a luxury apartment to call home 🤭☀️🏝️

But THIS 👇 is exactly why…

Just look at the first image 👀

That “healthy” avocado & eggs on sourdough? 👉 704 calories
That “unhealthy” fry-up? 👉 435 calories

That “healthy” porridge bowl? 👉 996 calories
That “unhealthy” McMuffin? 👉 552 calories

Let that sink in for a second…🤯

Your body doesn’t care if a food is labelled “healthy” or “unhealthy” for weight loss...

👉 It cares about calories

Fat loss comes down to one thing:

✅ A calorie deficit (burning more than you consume)

And here’s where people get caught out…😱

You can be:
✅ Eating clean
✅ Choosing whole foods
✅ Avoiding “junk”

🚫…but still not lose weight

Why? Because a lot of “healthy” foods are calorie-dense:
• Oils
• Nuts & nut butters
• Seeds
• Eggs
• Avocado

All great for you… but easy to overdo!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Especially when you combine them in one meal (like in the picture 👀)

So it’s VERY easy to:
✔️ Feel on track
❌ Not actually be in a calorie deficit

This doesn’t mean:
❌ Stop eating healthy
❌ Cut out nutritious foods

It just means:
✅ Portion size matters
✅ Calories count
✅ Balance is key

“Healthy eating” & “eating for fat loss” are NOT always the same thing.

You don’t need to eat less healthy…

You just need to eat the right amount for your goal 🙏🏼👊🏼
