Late night legs!
Focuses more on the glutes and hammies tonight. The plan is to split the legs into two sessions a week, aiming to grow the size and strength in my upper legs again this way I can focus on targetted areas each day and not spend hours in the gym!

Keeping it simple yet productive!

To lose weight its all about CALORIES IN VS CALORIES OUT! We all know that and see it on every famous fitness influencer's post.

But does this mean you have to just do cardio? Short answer, NO!

Resistance training is proven to be as beneficial as your typical cardio exercises in burning fat and losing weight. Obviously with the your diet being half decent and not indulging in that huge Biscoff Cheesecake (oh wait thats just me), you will achieve your weight loss goals.

However, to throw in a curve ball or keep your training spiced up (πŸŒΆπŸ•Ί) why not involve your typical cardio session?

I used to love running, to the point where I ran a minimum 5 times a week. Then I changed my training, less running more weight training. Now I've got to a point where even though I'm fairly strong (not Ronnie Coleman or Eddie Hall strong), I'm too heavy, I find I get out of breath a lot quicker.

So now my training has to adapt. Shorter rest periods. Higher intensities. More explosive movements and an introduction of more running just because its what I enjoy.

So being 17st, I'll keep my runs short and sweet until my weight comes down, stamina and endurance levels go up then I'll increase distance. Don't get me wrong there will be a 5k attempt at a slow pace 🐒

Meet Fraser...

A new client of mine with the right attitude, who nailed his first session today!

Fraser is a keen walker, who has a rather large walk in Spain next year, so after moving house and settling in he's now taking his first steps into his new fitness journey!

What are you training today??

Don't go into the workout with an empty notepad or mind. These are the session you're most likely to go half hearted.

When you get up, and are sitting and eating your breakfast, plan ahead. Write down what exercises, for how many reps/distance and each tempo/intensity you're going to do.

Now you'll save time and the embarrassment of standing there looking clueless stratching your head saying "hmmm... what next?!"

A friend of mine who is let's say... a cycle-head gave me the opportunity to have a go on his Zwift setup the other day.

What a decent set up!
A lot harder than just going out on your bike, you lose the ability to stand up and cycle and lean the bike side to side and so much more.

However, a big shock to the system in fitness levels. Zwift can calculate your Watt output, mine at times was decent, but not very consistent! I mean I have an additional 2 to 3 stone than my friend, yet he can produce more but for a longer period of time.

Now, I'd say I have fairly strong legs, if you know me I'm not the kind to skip leg day, and I struggle to find trousers that appropriate for my legs. But there's different kind of strength when it comes to cycling up a hill on a bike to squating, or leg extensions, but unless your squatting for 45mins straight, with little to no break, being on that bike non stop was bloody tough!

My aim is to head back at the end of November to try and beat my time!
In order to do so some tweeking to my training is a must!!

A great leg conditioning workout the other night.

Luke and I occasionally meet up for a workout when I can get him away from matts of BJJ! πŸ₯‹

He's a tough cookie to train along side as he's always determined and always pushes me to my limits... (which make me almost chuck up after some intense squats!) 🀒

Took me a few days for the pair of us to recover!! Great session!!
