Success and congratulations to Paul Hutson, the local entreprenier, business owner and member of Marden Bowls Club!
Paul won the Maidstone & District Singles final on Sunday held at Marden beating his opponent the experianced A Tree from Bearsted BC.
Paul was also in the team who won the fours earlier in the day against Maidstone BC.
Sadly our Triples came out just short losing a very wet final against Bearsted on the extra end!

The Maidstone & District Friday Night Triples concluded last night.
Marden's two teams both won their respective leagues.
Well done to everyone concerned.
We are in a couple more finals coming up, overall a very sucessful season.
We are open to applications for membership for next season if you wish to join a small friendly and sucessful club.

We played our final game at home in the Bowls England Top Club competition last night.
Our oppenents were Appleyard from Sittingbourne.
We fought hard but our oppenents were too stong for us overall.
The green played well, but we came up short and finished second!
Their team comperising of International , Middleton Cup & County players move on to play in the latter stages of the competition.
We wish them well in the future rounds.

Marden BC travelled to Herne Bay on Saturday evening to play the third round of the Bowls England Top Club competition.

This competative game was played in good spirit, the game was heading for a win to the hosts nearing the final stages as we had lost the Pairs & Two Wood.
The Triples had recorded our only result at the time. The Fours scored six shots to tie the rink after 18 ends. The extra end was won by Marden, with only one game remaining, the singles which had been very close all the way through, with Marden coming out on top.
Marden Winning 3 games to 2.
This was against a strong club with good players, their membership 4 times greater than ours.
We thank them for their hospitality.
A great result, the next round we are drawn against Appleyard at home who have International, Middleton Cup and County players within their membership. Another very hard game!
The date to be decided, but it will be within the next two weeks.

Well done to all the players involved.

Tomorrow night we host the divisional finals of the county singles with 2 of our own players competing, come and find us to watch some quality bowls the bar will be open 😀

We held our Open day on Saturday.
We had a reasonable response to our adverts and articles with 18 or so interested locals coming along to try out our great game of bowls.
Free taster sessions are available on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday afternoons from 2pm -4.30pm.
If you could not make Saturday, and you are interested in finding out more, why not come along, just a flat pair of shoes is required.
Discounted rates are available for new bowlers!
