Marden BC travelled to Herne Bay on Saturday evening to play the third round of the Bowls England Top Club competition.
This competative game was played in good spirit, the game was heading for a win to the hosts nearing the final stages as we had lost the Pairs & Two Wood.
The Triples had recorded our only result at the time. The Fours scored six shots to tie the rink after 18 ends. The extra end was won by Marden, with only one game remaining, the singles which had been very close all the way through, with Marden coming out on top.
Marden Winning 3 games to 2.
This was against a strong club with good players, their membership 4 times greater than ours.
We thank them for their hospitality.
A great result, the next round we are drawn against Appleyard at home who have International, Middleton Cup and County players within their membership. Another very hard game!
The date to be decided, but it will be within the next two weeks.
