We had a very warm afternoon today at Manea Lakes, but I must say, fishing the top paid dividends today.

Oliver, one of my returning Junior Anglers, managed to catch some really good Carp. His skill set is just improving every time we go out. The way Oliver managed to play this big fish (close on 10.5 lbs) today, on light tackle, was superb.

Very well done 🎣

Everyone, ‘please get fishing’ 🎣

Was great to see a returning Mother and Son Angling Team on my pond today.

Yet again a few lovely Carp were caught, but most importantly, (at their request) we did a full tutorial on all the different methods of Coarse Fishing and general Angling Knots & skills. This is all leading to them getting out on their own.

Great lesson, well done 🎣

Much better morning on the pond weather-wise today, the wind had dropped and the sun was shining.

Met a pair of young Anglers today ~ I’m not sure if it’s a sign of getting old, when the Junior Anglers are taller than you! 😁

We had a really good session. We caught plenty of small Carp and the lads really improved throughout the session. We also spent a little time at the end of the session going through techniques, knots and tackle.

It was great to learn they got involved in Angling, because of their dad, who has alway been an avid fisherman.

I think the lads will know now that to get you going ‘it’s just one knot’ 😁

Well done 🎣

📍The Coarse Fishing Season starts on Tuesday - if you’re local, hopefully I’ll see you on the bank!

(The UK river fishing season for coarse fish (such as barbel, chub, roach, and bream) in England and Wales runs from June 16 to March 14. This means the coarse fishing "Close Season" applies from March 15 through June 15, to protect fish while they spawn).

Hello everyone ~ things have been a little quiet on my page as I have just come back from a little break - but as you can see, we are back to it today, on this breezy morning on the Fens.

As the weather has changed, the fish were a little bit harder to catch, but we still had a few small Carp out this morning.

It was lovely to see this mother and son team learning together and great to hear that, with this little bit of knowledge, they’re planning some of their own fishing adventures for the Summer ahead.

Well done 🎣

I hope everyone’s having a wonderful bank holiday weekend - I just wanted to share with you how lucky I’ve been to experience a fisherman’s trip of a life time.

Who’d of thought a young boy fishing the canals of inner London would end up Salmon fishing the River Tay in Scotland.

I was also very privileged to start learning a few new tricks myself from our amazing guide Tom Brown ~ an absolute fountain of knowledge.

Unfortunately, the water levels are very low this year and the salmon weren’t biting but still never the less an unbelievable trip in some breathtakingly beautiful countryside.

We’ve had another wonderful afternoon at Manea Fisheries today ~ as you can see from the photos, this is one of my young returning Anglers.

Oliver now holds the record for the biggest Carp out of my little pond ‘and’ now today at Manea the biggest Carp caught with Fenland Fishing Adventures so far, at nearly 9lb!

And the Laura McNulty family still hold the record for biggest Pike caught to date.

The Carp today were caught on reasonably light tackle and this is the only way you can learn the true way of Angling

Oliver has had a great lesson.
Well done. 🎣🏆

This is what we are all doing to protect Angling for the next generations. 🎣
