Evening everyone,
Last week we had an email from a young man called Jordan who had recently married his partner Daniel.
Jordan reached out to Vernon, our founder, as he & Daniel wanted to do a donation of £300 in the memory of Jordans late cousin Chris French who was an avid Mansfield Town Football Club supporter, who has a brick with his name on, at the mighty Stags ground.
Jordan had heard of the work we do & decided he would like to donate in the memory of Chris French his cousin.
Vernon chatted with Jordan, suggesting a trophy in the memory of Chris & between them came up with the idea of a weekly award for both Juniors & Adults, it would be awarded to players who show respect to fellow players & staff, as Chris was all for respect.
Vernon was absolutely honoured & delighted to arrange a trophy which he designed, along with a certificate to go with the trophy & through the trophy, the memory of Chris French will remain strong.
Jordan said of Chris, " He was an amazing man who always showed respect to others & always put family first. He valued respect as that is what mattered most to him, he spread love & joy to those around him. His love for the Stags was like no other, on the day the family said goodbye, his Family carried him on his final journey wearing Stags shirts, which is just the way Chris wanted it."
