*Notice to Clubs*
*Inclusivity β Neurodiversity*
As part of our ongoing commitment to inclusion, the league is introducing a new initiative to better support neurodiverse participants within the game.
Referees will begin asking captains or club representatives prior to matches whether any players have a neurodiverse diagnosis that may require reasonable adjustments.
This initiative is designed to:
β’ Increase understanding and awareness
β’ Support players in performing at their best
β’ Promote a more inclusive and respectful playing environment
We ask clubs to:
β’ Share relevant information appropriately with match officials
β’ Support referees in implementing reasonable adjustments
β’ Continue fostering a positive and inclusive culture within your teams
We are also working towards collaborating with each County FA Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG) to deliver training sessions. These sessions will help clubs and match officials better understand neurodiversity and how to support those who may experience additional challenges within football.
This approach also extends to referees, as we recognise that inclusion is for everyone involved in the game.
Together, we have an opportunity to lead the way and set high standards for inclusivity. Your support is key to making this a success.
