Move Together, Stay Stronger Longer

A powerful new study from Newcastle University and UCL has confirmed something we see every single day in our Move it or Lose it classes…
👉 Staying socially connected can help prevent — and even reverse — frailty.

Researchers found that older adults who regularly spend time with others, join groups, volunteer or take part in community activities are far less likely to become frail. And those who increase their social engagement are more likely to regain strength, balance and independence.

That’s exactly why Move it or Lose it works so well.
Our classes aren’t just about exercise — they’re about friendship, laughter, support and belonging.
💚 You see people arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
💬 You hear the chatter before class and the giggles during it.
💪 You watch confidence grow week after week.
The research is clear: staying connected keeps us stronger for longer.
And connection is at the heart of everything we do.
Whether you join a local class or stay active from home with our Online Club, you’ll find movement and community waiting for you.

Hello everyone I’ve missed you all 😍 I’ve not been well for a few months the doctors found an aneurysm on my aorta and I’ve had to have double valve replacement at the wonderful Glenfield Hospital Leicester thank goodness for our NHS 🙏 This came as an absolute shock to me as you can imagine, and it’s been really tough getting through it, but I’m on the other side now 🤞💓
I’m hopefully starting my rehabilitation very soon. I can’t wait to return to work when I can and doctors give me a thumbs up.☺️
I want to thank all my class members who have sent their love, visited me, sent me gifts, flowers, text messages and come to cook my dinner!☺️
I would not be here without the support and love from my family and friends and of course the fabulous doctors ❤️🤗
I’m forever grateful 🙏🥰🙏🥰
Keep moving everyone 💪🕺

Thanks for my beautiful flowers from my Woodhouse class 🌺
I’ve tried to get messages to all of my movers, I’ve had some bad news this week and need to take a couple of months off. It’s been a very upsetting week for me but I am slowly getting my head around it. I look forward to exercising with you all again very soon. 💪 remember everyone keep moving and dance like nobody is watching 😍💃🕺

🧠✨ Exercise for a Healthier Brain – New Research Confirms It! ✨🧠

A groundbreaking study from University College London has revealed that staying active throughout life can help protect your brain and reduce the risk of dementia – and it’s never too late to start!

📊 The study followed people born in 1946 and found those who exercised regularly had better brain health in their 70s. Amazing, right?

Here’s what they discovered:

✅ Exercise helps protect memory – Active people had a larger hippocampus, the part of the brain linked to memory.
✅ Lifelong movement matters – Being active earlier in life offers the best protection, but moving more at any age still helps.
✅ Even with early signs of Alzheimer’s, exercise helped preserve memory and thinking skills.
✅ Women may benefit even more from regular physical activity.
✅ Heart and brain health go hand in hand – walking, stretching, strengthening, it all adds up!

💬 Takeaway? Even gentle, regular movement like our Move it or Lose it! classes can make a real difference in brain health and memory.

So keep moving, keep connecting, and keep your brain and body strong 💪🧠
