💙💛 WE ARE FAMILY 💛💙

One of our own, Liz, is currently battling cancer, and we wanted to do something to show her just how much she means to our Blidworth family.

Liz is one of those people who always has a smile on her face, brings positive vibes wherever she goes and puts others before herself. She’s an amazing mum to Lake, and we wanted to help Liz and her daughter make some special memories together. ❤️

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone at Blidworth Colliery Welfare Cricket Club, we have managed to raise an amazing £1,200 for Liz and Lake. 💙

And as if that wasn’t enough, The Lashes Foundation have very generously donated a further £500 towards the cause. We are incredibly grateful for their kindness and support. 💗

This is what our club is all about. We are family, and we stick together when our people need us most. 💛

Liz, keep battling on. Your strength, positivity and smile are an inspiration to us all. ❤️

The 1st XI returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion away at P&L II. The 2nd XI came close to defending a low total, while the Sunday XI signed off the season with a great win against Welbeck II — sadly not enough to avoid relegation. However, it was only two concessions due to pre-arranged club events that put us in this position. This team has been full of youngsters playing great cricket, learning and developing along the way.

The women’s softball team headed to Grace Road, Leicestershire CCC, for finals day, but unfortunately bowed out at the group stage. Still, a fantastic season that saw them reach finals day once again.

A special moment for Blidworth junior Hadley Overton, who took his first senior five-for with figures of 6 wickets in yesterday’s win against Mansfield. 👏

An even prouder day for the Overton family, as Hadley took to the field alongside his dad Martin and mum Millie, the first time a father, mother and son have all represented the club in the same match.

A brilliant achievement and a proper Blidworth moment. 💙💛
