A fantastic day at the Richard Rigby Traditional Windsor Archery Tournament hosted by for their first traditional shoot!

Despite the forecast of thunder and showers, we stayed dry all day with even a little sunshine. A lovely relaxed shoot with a great mix of longbow, flat bow and horse bow archers.

Huge well done to our Horse bow archers — Sergei taking 2nd place, and Daryl stealing the show on his first away shoot by taking 1st!

The gents longbow was incredibly close, with Andy Harrison and Hamish finishing on the same score, Andy just taking 1st on number of golds, leaving Hamish in 2nd.

Overall, a brilliant day and a great medal haul for Assheton. Well done chaps!

DONT FORGET

Sighter Mark Sunday
Sunday, April 26·10:30am

The Outdoor Sighters Event is a relaxed archery session where members adjust their bow sights to shoot at different distances in preparation for the summer season.

Outdoor Coaching
For several members this will be your first time at shooting outdoors, but don't worry as they'll be coaches and experienced members on hand to assist and guide you through the process of outdoor rounds, setting up a boss, targets, adjusting your equipment and setting your goals for the 2026 season.
So just come along, it’s all free.
