Dear Parents/Guardians & Adult swimmers

I am sure many of you will have seen the recent news reports highlighting the tragic number of young lives lost in open water incidents.

To help raise awareness and educate our swimmers, move Altrincham will be holding Water Safety Week from 15th–21st June.

We would like all of our swimmers to take part and gain valuable knowledge about how to stay safe in and around water.

For the sessions during Water Safety Week, we ask swimmers to wear the following over their swimwear:

Stages 1 & 2: Vest top and shorts
Stage 3 and above: T-shirt and long trousers

These sessions will be fun, engaging, and educational, while also highlighting important water safety skills and awareness.

We hope that by giving our swimmers the knowledge and confidence to make safe decisions around water, we can help prevent future tragedies.

If this awareness helps to save even one life, it will make these sessions worthwhile.
