Gorton Karate & Kobudo Club teaches Sh*to-Ryu/Shukokai Karate and more recently, is a provider of kobudo, under the instruction of weapons exponent, Sensei Julian Mallelieu 7th Dan. Karate and English Karate Federation Kata Coach. GKKC was established in April 2005 by GKKC Chief Instructor Sensei Deborah Jones 5th Dan. In partnership with Sensei Debs, Sensei Dan Corbet 2nd Dan, leads G.K.K.C alongside senior instructors Sensei Lexi Sahadeo 3rd Dan & Sensei Chloe Cope 2nd Dan. The team is strengthened by the support of dan grade instructors Ethan Corbet 2nd Dan, Wendy Corbet 1st Dan, Ed Carter 1st Dan and Natalie Newsham 1st KYU.

What a fantastic week its been at GKKC! We awarded Sensei Ed with a special black belt embroidered in Japan, for his 80th birthday, Sensei Julian awarded Benjamin and Selina with their Dan grade certificates beautifully scripted by Sensei Masataka Osh*ta, and we had many students pass their grading assessments to a very good standard too! On behalf of myself and the rest of our fantastic instructor team, congratulations to you all and thank you for your dedication and commitment to your training and to GKKC. Sensei Debs 🙂

Today in our beginners class we decided to practice the k**a kata we learned in February when Sensei Ricardo and Sensei Dirk visited the UK to teach the Osita Ha UK students Kobudo.

It was a great opportunity to refresh what we had learned and also to share it with the lower belts at club who were amazing!
