The Christie Cup. Established in 1886, itโs the second-oldest inter-university competition in the world. Oxford and Cambridge can keep their boat race; the North has nearly 140 years of Manchester, Liverpool, and Leeds battling it out for regional bragging rights and a heavy piece of silverware.
Enter the chosen few. Tomorrow, this starting XV steps onto the pitch, carrying the hopes of the university and the desperate, burning desire to succeed after last yearโs misfortune. Led from the front by Club Chairman and Christie Captain Baba Obatoyinbo, and Vice-Captain Will Czajkowski, this squad is built on grit, weeks of preparation, and sheer willpower.
With Sterling Parker-Booth commanding the backline and dictating the tempo, the game plan is firmly set. Up front, weโre backing Dominic Walters to do absolute damage at the breakdown, while Jayden Davies brings the sheer physicality to the front row. Out wide, give Gwern Doherty half a yard of space and heโs gone.
The rest of the boys know exactly what they need to do.
