π Future Captains Begin Their Journey at Alexandra Park! π
Friends Sporting Clubβs All Stars Programme Concludes with Smiles and Skill
[June 20th, Manchester] β A summer of energy, learning, and boundless enthusiasm came to a joyous conclusion today at Alexandra Park as the Friends Sporting Club officially wrapped up its eight-week All Stars Cricket programme.
The final day was a true festival of cricket, celebrating the incredible progress made by dozens of children aged 5 to 8. Since early May, Alexandra Park has been transformed into a vibrant hub of activity every week, with young players, many picking up a cricket bat for the first time, developing not just fundamental movement skills but a genuine love for the game.
Our vision for this programme was simple: to create a safe, supportive, and, above all, fun introduction to cricket. Over the past two months, we have seen these children grow significantly. Theyβve learned how to grip, bowl, and field, all while making new friends and learning the value of teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship.
This incredible success was made possible by the unwavering dedication of our amazing coaches and the invaluable support of parent volunteers who came together to guide, encourage, and cheer on the next generation of cricketers. The sight of so many happy, active children, surrounded by supportive families, has been a highlight of the year for our club.
While the All Stars programme has concluded, the journey for these young players is just beginning. Friends Sporting Club is committed to providing a clear pathway for junior cricket, and we look forward to welcoming many of these 'All Stars' back next season as they continue to develop their skills and passion for the sport.
We extend our sincere thanks to every parent who enrolled their child and to the entire community that supported this initiative.
Stay Active, Keep Smiling, and Weβll See You on the Pitch Next Summer!
