🏏 A GREAT FIRST TOURNAMENT FOR OUR WOMEN’S TEAM! 🏏

Monday 31st August saw a little bit of history for Denton West Cricket Club, as our Women’s team competed in their first ever tournament at the Bredbury St Marks Festival! 👏

Despite the cold and wet conditions, the girls turned up with fantastic enthusiasm and gave a great account of themselves against some well-established teams and some very good players.

With five teams taking part — three from Bredbury, Moorside and our own Denton West side — the competition was always going to be a tough test.

We finished 4th, winning one game and narrowly losing the other three, but the results really don't tell the full story. There were some tight finishes and some excellent cricket, with the girls competing strongly in every game.

Most importantly, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it was a fantastic opportunity for the team to test themselves, learn and continue their development. 💪🏏

Congratulations to Bredbury Blazers, who were the eventual festival winners. 🏆

A huge thank you to Bredbury St Marks for hosting such a well-organised and enjoyable festival — and well done to our girls for showing continued improvement and plenty of promise.

This is just the beginning for Denton West Women’s Cricket… and there’s plenty more to come! 💙🏏

It’s official! Bonfire Night is back at Denton West Cricket Club!

With our new clubhouse taking shape, things will look a little different this year and some areas of the ground will be restricted, but we’re working on plans to make sure Bonfire Night can still go ahead!

💚💛 WEST FEST 26 — WHAT A DAY!

A massive thank you to everyone who came down and made yesterday so special.

To our artists, food vendors, bar staff, Cerberus Security Solutions, medical team, Sophie Rowen our amazing videographer, Jalmac leisure and the army of volunteers who made it all happen, thank you.

Months of work for one incredible day, and it was worth every minute.

Another big Saturday of senior cricket and Windsor Park is open from 12:30pm!

Our 2nd XI are at home against Roe Green, with both sides getting underway at 12:30pm, while the 1st XI make the trip to Roe Green looking for another important win.

A brilliant night for our Women’s 1st XI as they come out on top in Denton’s El Clasico!

West posted 119/4 from their 15 overs, before Denton St Lawrence finished on 110/6 giving West the 19-run victory on net score.

A fantastic team performance and another great night for women’s cricket in Denton. 👏
