Capriole Academy of Dance

Capriole Academy of Dance Capriole Academy of Dance has been established since 1989 in Audenshaw. Dancers are regularly entered for B.B.O. The B.B.O. Scholarship.

Graded and Major examinations and have achieved 100% pass rate to date. Syllabus is recognised around the world and enables suitable students to progress to full time dance training and careers. Students have been accepted on Dance related courses at Preston College, Liverpool John Moores University, Leeds City College and the Northern Ballet School in Manchester. One Senior Male Student began tra

ining at Northern Ballet Vocational School in Manchester with a full scholarship, and a Female Student gained a Junior Ballet North B.B.O. Students have auditioned and have been accepted and involved with English Youth Ballet performing The Nutcracker in Manchester and Coppelia in Preston. Students also have the opportunity of enjoying Dance Days at Elmhurst, the prestigious Vocational Dancing School in Birmingham. Capriole was asked to do the very first Wayne Sleep Workshop in Copley which was repeated in 1998 at the Northern Ballet School Studios in Manchester.

This photo is of Ann and husband Frank at her 80th birthday party at which myself and hubby Phil were guests. Those students who knew Ann will remember her at all the shows, displays and all the support she gave when Capriole students were getting ready for their dance exams. We have been friends for almost 30 years and I am so glad I took this photo as it was happier times before her Alzheimer’s in just 4 years took Ann away. Sadly myself and hubby Phil attended Ann’s funeral today which gave a great send off to such a dear friend. R.I.P. Ann ♥️ xx

Myself and hubby Phil send best wishes to all Capriole students past and present and hope you have a very merry Christmas and wish you all the very best for the New Year when it arrives ‘2024’
It was lovely to see Holly Te who called in for a cuppa, mince pie and chat and who is studying ‘Law’ at Durham University. It was a lovely catch up, thank you Holly 💕 and hoping Henry is feeling better soon.
Phoebe did very well in her last Grade 5 Ballet and Modern class before breaking up for Christmas. Well done Phoebe 💕

Imogen McBeath who was accepted at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds three years ago has Graduated gaining a ‘First’. Very impressive and hubby Phil and myself and all at Capriole who knew and worked with Imogen wish her all the very best for a long and bright future in whatever direction Imogen now decides to take. Myself and hubby Phil would like to wish all Capriole dancers past and present a happy Christmas and all the very best for the New Year. It was lovely to see Mum Charlotte and Gill watching Sophie in Grade 2 ballet, also Paula, Minh, Holly (home from Uni) and Harvey who came to watch Phoebe and Henry in Grade 5 ballet before finishing for Christmas. Thank you so much for the presents, they are very much appreciated, take good care and see you in the New Year 💕

It was lovely to see Natasha with her babe (Kathleen), Vassia and Mum Helen who came for a visit on Wednesday. We had a great catch up and hubby Phil and me loved every minute of it. Having cuddles with baby was such a treat and I wanted to keep her but somehow I don’t think I would have got away with that idea 🤔 We had biscuits and a cuppa and then sadly they had to leave but we are hoping we can all meet again at Christmas ❤️

Imogen came for a visit and Advanced Ballet Class before going back vocational in Leeds. We had a great catch up and it is always lovely to hear how ex-students are progressing. The video is of Imogens last class before going vocational showing just a few of the exercises and Imogen did a repeat 2hr class on her visit and followed on with a cuppa and biscuits 😀 xx
