Manchester and District Ladies Cycling Association The Manchester and District Ladies Cycling Association was formed to encourage ladies' cycle racing, especially Time Trials.

Membership is open to individuals and clubs in the Manchester area. Each year the M&DLCA promotes three 10 mile time trials, two 25 mile time trials and one 50 mile time trial. It also awards a number of trophies each year.

First of our designated 10 mile events, this one is run by the M&DTTA. Sunshine so far, we are all set up at the finish!

The sun is shining, the road surfaces are smoothing and the TT season is officially underway….. what’s not to love🌞😍🌞

Our events are approaching 🥳. However, we’re short on marshals…. We can’t run our events without the support of our wonderful volunteers. Please check out the below dates for our 2 * 10TT events on 6th & 27th June and our 25TT on 18th July.

Saturday 18th April – 10 mile run by M&DTTA J2/3 at 14:00, organiser David Clayton
Saturday 23rd May – 25 mile run by Weaver Valley J2/9 at 14.00, organiser Chris Gilbert
Saturday 6th June – invitation 10 on J2/3 at 14.00 run by M&DLCA, organiser Katherine Jackson
Saturday 13th June - 50 open championship (in conjunction with M&DTTA) J4/9 at 14.00, organiser Ian Ross
Saturday 27th June – invitation 10 on J2/3 at 14.00 run by M&DLCA, organiser Katherine Jackson
Saturday 18th July – invitation 25 on J2/9 at 14.00 run by M&DLCA, organiser Mavis Ross

We award prizes and trophies to members of the M&DLCA and affiliated clubs. Any 25 mile or 50 mile event on a J course counts for the BAR, but the only counting 10 mile events are those organized by the M&DLCA plus the M&DTTA 10 mile event on Saturday 18th April 2026.

Marshals and helpers in the kitchen are welcome for all the events. Please contact the relevant organizers.

M&DLCA 2026 AGM will be on Saturday 21st February 2026
Venue: upstairs room, Woodside Golf Club, Cranage CW4 8HJ
Time: 1pm for 1.15 pm
Each affiliated club is being sent notification with an invitation to send up to two female 2 delegates.
Some of us will be having lunch in the restaurant beforehand from 12pm, delegates and their clubmates are very welcome to join us, please just let us know so that we can reserve enough seats.

There will be 32 of us at the prize presentation lunch this coming Saturday. Please find below some useful information for those who have booked to attend.
1) Venue – Woodside Golf Club, Knutsford Rd, Crewe CW4 8HJ (Next door to the Spinney). Car parking and bike parking are at the end of the drive next to the clubhouse, we are using the upstairs room.
2) Time - 12 for 12.30pm ie we need to be sat down by 12.30pm for the food which will be served at the tables. The bar is downstairs, so best to order your drinks on the way in.
3) Dress code – your choice. You can dress up, dress down, wear your cycling kit, particularly if you have ridden there and/or come in your club colours. We will take a photo of all the prize winners who are happy to be photographed.
4) Raffle – we are having a raffle to help cover engraving costs, donations of raffle prizes are always very welcome. If you won the fruit basket last year, please bring it back, preferably filled with fruit! Please bring cash if you would like to purchase tickets.
5) Seating – there will be a table plan, to help the kitchen and those serving us. This will be on the welcome board in the room. I have tried to keep clubs together where possible, please sit on your assigned table in whichever seat you want. Please do not move the furniture.
6) Payment – many thanks to those who have paid in advance. For those paying on the day, our treasurer Mavis will be collecting payment as cash or cheque from table 1 near the top of the stairs. We do not have a card machine!
7) Prize presentation – this will be after the meal, prizes will be presented by our President, Jane Green. A copy of the order of presentation will be on each table.
8) Covid and flu precautions –People can wear masks when not eating if they wish. Please do not come if you are ill. Please let us know if you cannot come

Final week for booking a place at our prize presentation and lunch, deadline is this Friday 7th November!
We have 30 attendees so far, ticket price is £23. It is being held on Saturday November 22nd, 12 for 12.30, at Woodside Golf Club. Main course is a choice of chicken supreme or cheese and onion pie served with roast potatoes and vegetables, dessert is choice of lemon meringue pie served with pouring cream, or apple pie with custard. Any special dietary requirements can be accommodated if you let us know in advance.
Everyone who supports us and our events, and everyone who rides in our time trials and their family members, club members and friends are very welcome. You can come on your bikes, wear club colours or put on your favourite outfit!
