Athletes will earn points across key national and international events to secure their spot for an international open later in the year.

The main purpose of the YDP is to continue to nurture and prepare the young athletes for domestic, international and WKF events. This includes helping the athletes & families financially to be able to compete abroad. We hope that the work we do will stand them in good stead for their future in karate competition.
Within the YDP the ranking points system will run throughout the year. Each athlete will have their own ranking points profile and will collect points based on positive performances at selected events, with the highest ranked athletes selected to represent the YDP and be fully funded at a chosen event.
The ranking points table will be live for all parents and athletes to view at any time.
Below you can find details of what ranking points will be awarded as well as the events chosen to collect ranking points for the next few months.
