Volunteer Coaches Wanted – Venture Athletics (Manchester) 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Are you passionate about athletics and supporting young talent?
Venture Athletics, based at Sportcity, Manchester, is looking for volunteer coaches to join our Combined Events Squad (athletes aged 13–21) to help our talented and committed young athletes realise their ambitions.
You’ll be part of a friendly, experienced, and ambitious coaching team, led by Head Coach Alex Wort, who has led an England team and brings a wealth of expertise to the group. Aided and supported by Kate Walton and Ashley Pritchard. Both of whom bring a wealth of experience from their own athletics careers in combined events.
This is an exciting opportunity to:
✅ Develop your coaching skills
✅ Work with high-achieving, motivated young athletes from across the North West
✅ Contribute to a positive, supportive training environment
Training Schedule:
🗓 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Friday evenings & Saturday morning (Attendance not required on all days)
🚗 Mileage and accommodation covered when supporting athletes at competitions
Requirements:
* Ideally Level 1 UK Athletics qualified (or willing to undertake training – financial support may be available)
* Hold a current DBS certificate or be prepared to obtain one (in line with UKA safeguarding guidance)
* Enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about athlete development
