They are always there.

Feel so blessed and privileged to be able to train and compete around the world as often as I do with my family in my corner. No matter what, my family are there screaming my name. I could be dead last and they would still be there cheering me on (maybe not Rosa, she would have some strong words about being last).
-
This year I’ve added another sport to the calendar and they are still showing up. In the rain, in the wind. My wife dragging a pram round random cities to see me fly past for 5s is everything to me. I will always show my kids that effort is the only currency to worry about.

Different events. Different objectives. Different environments.
-
But every one of them demands the same thing.
Discipline when motivation disappears.
Resilience when fatigue takes over.
The courage to keep moving forward when quitting would be a little easier.
Nobody can blag preparation at these events.
-
The work has already been done.
The miles have already been covered.
The sacrifices have already been made.
Now it is time to find out what all of that effort was worth.

Good luck to every athlete representing Red On this month.

Ready For Anything.

Red On is not just for elite athletes.
-
Yes, we have coached some of the world’s most dangerous athletes. International Special Forces operators, world champions, record breakers, Olympians, UFC athletes and multi sports podium finishers to name a few…

But that is not what defines a Red On athlete!

What matters is commitment.

You do not need to be the fastest, strongest or most experienced person in the room. You simply need to be willing to show up, do the work and give everything you have to the process.

Rachel is proof of that.

No shortcuts. No excuses. Just relentless consistency, trust in the coaching and a willingness to go all in with us. We treat every person the exact same way and expect the same commitment and effort back.

Our coaching, our community and our events are built for people who want to discover what they are truly capable of… Effort is the only barrier to entry.
-
Always proud of you, Rach. Every achievement has been earned. WE ARE NOT SETTLING HERE!

I don’t know how I double this right now.
-
Ironman Bolton didn’t scare me until I started cramping in the water. It’s a scary thought cramping when you are less than an hour into a 6 hour competition. I knew the swim was my weakness when I started this sport 5 months ago and I couldn’t swim 25m front crawl…
-
I have worked on it every week since and knew the swim would still hurt, but didn’t think it would hurt that much. I swam over 2km to stay away from the inside after getting beaten up in the first 200m. So I had to stay as far right as I could to try and get any sort of momentum.
-
After the swim hurt, I thought I needed more carbs to offset the damage and although I felt strong on the bike; I suffered significantly on the run! Stomach cramps hit me hard, trying to get my trisuit off multiple times in portaloos hit me harder and I was getting slower and slower and starting to feel the effects all over my body.
-
Lessons have been learned the hard way and often the only way, but I sit writing this wondering how I double everything in less than 70 days at Ironman Copenhagen. But after Bolton, I know Anything Is Possible and I’m Ready For Anything and ready to find out.

Ready for anything.

That was so far out of my comfort zone! But that’s how we grow.
-
Full debrief soon but I survived my first Ironman 70.3. AKA, Op Certain Death.
-
Thank you to everyone who screamed my name and supported me throughout that. It genuinely means the world to me. Got to Double it in August now
-
Is there any feeling like your family screaming your name whilst running down that red carpet?!

Excited to share a new arena with athletes and friends!

The prep is done with and now it’s time to reap the reward and have fun. Thanks everyone for the advice yesterday.
-
Firstly, it’s the real race with my little girl taking on Ironkids ! She’s been warming up since 0800 this morning.

Give me 1 piece of advice nobody tells you before your first Ironman? I plan on staying in my lane and running my own race, but what would be your golden piece of advice to help me succeed this weekend?
