A round of the National Circuit Series in Dawlish and a proposed round of the National Road Series in the South West are the standouts from British Cycling's unveiling of its top-tier domestic road calendar for 2025.
_
The prospect of elite racing in regions beyond the sport’s domestic heartland aligns with the Elite Road Racing Task Force’s recommendation for more National A series races outside of the north of England.
_
Ant Gill, British Cycling’s Head of Sport, thanked organisers and partners and said next year’s calendar balanced traditional events with exciting new rounds.
_
“The Lloyds National Road and Circuit Series continues to be at the forefront of domestic racing across the nine disciplines, and we are continuing to work hard to show the advancements of elite road racing in Britain,” he said.
_
“We’re excited to see the series inspire the next generation of British cyclists while delivering thrilling racing throughout the season.”
_
The continuation of blue riband races like the Women’s CiCLE Classic, Lincoln Grand Prix, and Beaumont Trophy/Curlew Cup is likely to be welcomed by teams, riders and fans alike.
_
The return of the Lancaster Grand Prix, however, a more recent addition to the National Road Series calendar, whose women’s race was won by riders from Brother UK-sponsored teams in 2023 and 2024, is to be confirmed.
_
Three of the six rounds of next year’s National Circuit Series will be held in Yorkshire, including the much-loved races at Otley and Ilkley, and the gold-standard Sheffield Grand Prix.
_
A location for the Yorkshire round of the National Road Series has not been identified, however. North Yorkshire’s Ryedale Grand Prix concluded in August with its 19th edition. The East Cleveland Classic will return next April for riders in Open and women’s categories.
