**IGR NORTHERN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS**

We are happy to announce that we are the IGR Northern League champions for 2023-4!

We will be facing off against Berkshire Unicorns in the final in London next Saturday.

Congratulations to Typhoons RUFC on their topping of the IGR International Gay Rugby UK North West League following our result against Leeds Hunters Rugby today.

Thanks for the match, Hunters and hosting us at the end of the season.

We’re really proud of our 2’s (and 1sts and 3rds of course too!) for the effort and growth over the last 7 months.

Our club has grown to nearly 200 members in the last few years and we’re proud to be introducing more and more players into the game and up through our squads.

As we round off this IGR season, we can be proud of our achievements this year to date, but also be pleased to see just how far has come since our founding Spartans first got together 25yrs ago.

With the Bingham ahead soon, we’ve also got a nice 25th Birthday Summer Party to look forward to in August to mark the Silver Anniversary of the historic first 15’s rugby union match between (the world’s two oldest) gay rugby teams. More details soon but our friends across IGR and the Cheshire RFU are all invited.

It’s our absolute honour to be hosting this year’s IGR International Gay Rugby League Finals at Steelers Stadium in east London!

The culmination of this year’s league is set to be a busy one. Teams from both the Northern and Southern Leagues will be playing across the day.
