Varsity was actually a bit ago now sorry but what a day for MUDS coming away with a massive 37-9 win!

MVP - Javed for some unbelievable catching and making some crucial hits

DOTD - Max Fraser Andrews for missing the warm up to eat a whole pack of doughnuts and proceeding to get caught at least a few dozen times by the same person. Maybe should have sat the game out and eaten another pack of doughnuts.

Big thanks and well done to .dodgeball we had a great few games 🫶

Who needs valentine’s day plans?

On Sunday 1st February our Men’s 1’s travelled to Birmingham for the second round of BUCS Premiership matches. A 10am meet sounded blissful after having to travel down to Southampton for the first round however sometimes even waking up at 10am is just too early for people.

So with only 6 we knew it would be a tough day of fixtures. Our first match taking on a strong Imperial side. A strong start from us allowed us to go into half time drawing 8-8. Sadly with the wall on their side in the second half there clinical set plays helped them storm the second half despite Toby’s best efforts of just catching them in the neutral zone. Final score is a 20 -8 loss!

Our second game was against the hosts Birmingham. Starting off slowly we went 6-0 however a smart time out called allowed us to reset and adapt our tactics. Reacting well to this chat we turned it around taking a one set lead into the final 2 sets. The penultimate set looked in our favour but a few good hits from Birmingham and they managed to clinch it. The score 11-11 going into the final minute set. The final set was a blur, catches being made on either side. Toby singlehandedly losing, saving and then losing the set with the rest of the team also struggling to make hits in the short set. Birmingham took a 13-11 win in a close fought encounter. But a lot of lessons learnt for our inexperienced 1st team.

MVP - Toby for some great hits and catches made (and finding out he has been a middle player the whole time)

DOTD - Tof for sadly missing the event and Toby for potentially making the best and worst clutch play of the day.

‼️‼️IMPORTANT SESSION INFO UPDATE‼️

This semester we’re changing our sessions a little bit! Tuesday sessions (women’s and mixed) are moving to SATURDAY at ARMITAGE and will now stay the same time every week, with women’s first at 11:30-12:30 and mixed at 12:20-13:30. There will be NO SESSIONS on Tuesdays anymore, just Monday, Friday and Saturday

Sessions are starting up again this MONDAY! See you next week 🫵

Mixed champs last weekend!

Back to Nottingham for the team for a really good or not so good day, it depends who you ask. Apparently Chris got headshot 4 times and Nat is bad at dodgeball now she’s 23. BUT we won a few games so it can’t be all that bad!

I have no idea who was MVP or DOTD sorry
