Our WIG group has been hard at work practicing their putting to improve their scores out on the course.

Some of our Academy Juniors were out after their Golfway lessons today competing in our first Chip & Putt competition. Players had two attempt at each of the 4 putting and 4 chipping stations and scored points based on proximity to the hole.

We have a number of Academy competitions on through the year as part of the "getting to the course" part of our golf pathway. The events give our Academy Juniors the chance to experience what it is like to compete, complete a score card and hit shots that count towards a score but in a relaxed friendly environment. Our Academy competitions start with today's chips & putt event, followed by a short course competition over 50-75yard holes before those that are ready get to go out and play the Academy championship over 4 holes on our championship course using advanced tees to make the hole length suitable. They work with the structured golf ways session to help our Juniors learn the game in a fun environment whilst developing them towards participation in our full Junior competitions.

Some of our older Juniors, including our Junior Captain, were out to support the event.

All the Players are now on the course for the final round of the Amateur Championship. John Carroll from Huyton & Prescott remains in the lead at 11 under. Plenty of golf left out there - good luck all.
