On behalf of everyone at TRUFC, we would like to thank Aaron Gorton for his dedication, leadership and commitment to the club.

Following a successful first season as Head Coach, Aaron has been given the opportunity to return to his first love, Rugby League, as part of the coaching team with Leigh Leopards Scholars.

Once a Bongser, always a Bongser. We look forward to seeing Aaron around the club and continuing to support the Bongs from the sidelines.

Everyone at TRUFC wishes Aaron every success and happiness in this exciting new chapter.

Exciting news about next years coaching team has been confirmed and will be announced over the coming days!

Touch Rugby is Back!

Everyone's favourite time when the weather is getting better (not today of course!) and good to catch up with old and new friends across the club. The Touch Rugby will run for the next few weeks from Wednesday 17th June from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Anyone over the age of 14+ of all abilities are welcome down to come and get involved. No need to book, just turn up on the day and we look forward to seeing as many of you down next Wednesday.

Seniors Awards Evening

Last month our Seniors closed the door on their season with the Awards Evening hosted by 'Temu's Ant + Dec'.

As well as the traditional awards many new awards were introduced on the night referred to as the BAFTA's (Bongs Awards for Terrible Attributes)

On this post we will list the traditional winners but I think you can guess from the pictures what some of the 'BAFTA's awards were:

2XV Most Improved- Will Heathcote
1XV Most Improved- Owen Wear

Young Player of the Year- Sam Bradbury

Presidents Award- Aaron Gorton
Sportsman Award- Danny Bez

Club Colours- Adam Lewis, Ben Dicky and George Hutton

2XV Player of the Year- Adam Tierney
1XV Player of the Year- Paul Martin

2XV Players Player of the Year- Billy Knight
1XV Players Player of the Year- Blake Rullo

Last game of the seniors season as our 1XV welcome Bolton for an afternoon of rugby at Bongs HQ

Games earlier in the season between both sides have been entertaining and no doubt the same to follow tomorrow.

The weather is looking belting, the touchline is expected to be busy with the 30 Bob Club in attendance, plus many others expected to be down at St George’s Park for the last fixture of the season.

Usual admin guy on a sabbatical this weekend but the key facts are:

Saturday 25th April
Kick Off is 3pm
Bar will be open from 12pm
Kitchen will be open too.
The sun most likely will be shining

Fancy another one?

We enjoyed the weekday game so much last week, Aspull have agreed to come to Bongs HQ for another Wednesday night clash!

Our Mighty 2s welcome Aspull 3s for the final fixture of an interesting season.

A 6.30pm Kick Off with the weather looking fantastic!

If you can get down to the club, the lads will appreciate all the support! The bar will be open too!

Your Tyldesley 2s Squad for this evening’s fixture at Bongs HQ!

Been a rollercoaster season for our 2s with many highs and a few lows.

With 15 out of the 20 lads selected being u19s and graduates of our M&J section, fantastic to see the transition of many into Senior Rugby.

A busy clubhouse is expected with the two fixtures on tonight including the Rugby League Scholarship game.

As always the support is greatly appreciated by the lads.

Excellent win at Bongs HQ for our 1XV!

🔵 Tyldesley 40 - 26 Collegiate ⚪️

With a number of injuries and holidays saw the opportunity for several of our Snr Colts to step up to 1XV rugby. They all played fantastically!

11 out of the 18 today all played Snr Colts rugby in last two seasons and didn’t look out of place!

Fantastic contest and thank you Collegiate for their part in an excellent game.
